Moxie had made her way slowly across the cave and now placed a hoof on Moon's shoulder with a understanding smile as she hooved him the bandage. After her took it, she kept quiet and took a few steps back, not wanting to interrupt their talk.
She still felt uncertain about what was best to do, and after a moment, she rubbed her arm with a hoof self consciously and began to back towards the door. "Well I should uh.... leave you two be and get back to work. Take your time Flux, there's no rush to get that cave done, we've plenty of time this week." Giving them an awkward smile, she turned to leave.

"Wait!" It was clear that Flux had cried out before he'd gotten to the point of formulating the rest of what he was going to say, and the following silence was filled with several deep breaths as he tried to pull his thoughts into order. After a few seconds he looked back up to her, his face and eyes conveying more of a message than he could put into words at the moment. "T-thank you. For teaching me. And bringing me here. For e-everything. You're a good friend."
He closed his eyes and took a slow breath, then forced himself to speak a bit slower and more clearly than the rushed stream of words that seemed to float straight out of his mind. "I'm sorry I m-messed up. I'll be back to help as soon as I can. I'll...do better," he said as his eyes opened and studied the ground for a moment before they rose back up to the mare's face. "I promise I'll do better."

The healer remains silent as the obviously distraught pegasus rambles on, unsure of what to do now. Or well, besides that he now had the bandages which he now could apply to his friends hurt head. Though he elected to wait until Moxie's response before doing anything else right now. "Let this play out for now. It was only a scratch so he'll not be any worse for it... no, just letting him talk would be best... I hope." He thinks as he waits, bandages floating besides him.

"I.... Flux...." Moxie didn't know what to say, he hadn't done anything wrong in the cave really, and it confused her how much he seemed to have taken on as guilt. She sighed and closed her eyes for a moment before opening them and giving him a worried look. "You're doing great Flux, really, I only wanted you to get some time to.... clear your mind...."
Moxie looked at her hooves, now very unsure how he would react to her next words. She wasn't sure if he might see it as her thinking she knew him more then she did... "I can just tell your distracted lately... I dont want you to get hurt, and I also want to give you enough time to get better." Her eyes pleaded with him. "I think you need to talk about your past - it needs to come out or it's going to eat you up completely!" Flux hadn't told her or anyone else much about his past, but she knew it had to be what was keeping him so distracted.

Her words seemed to strike home to the stallion as he realized she was right. If for nothing else, there was baggage from his life that had been brought with him into the camp, and he felt that they deserved to know so that they could at least be warned of the cloud that seemed to follow him around. As he fought to put the thoughts into words it seemed like his mind was untangling itself too, and he ever so slightly relaxed. "I just...miss my family, I guess," he said, snorting at how silly it seemed to say it out loud. "I was always there to try and protect them, and now I'm...not. They're just gone," he shrugged, unable to look up from the circles his hoof was tracing on the ground. "I have no idea if they need me, or if they even want me to find them after all this time. Not knowing is so hard. And the worst part is that I should have seen this coming. All the time, it's like something bad always happens to the ponies I love most, which is why I'm scared of knowing...and of being here around you guys. How much longer til I cause something that hurts one of you?"
The stallion trailed off and was silent for a few seconds before he let out a small breath that turned nearly into a scoff as he closed his eyes and rubbed at his forehead. "I don't need to bother you both with this, I'm sorry. I-I don't really have an excuse for any of this."

With Flux seemingly done talking for the moment, Moon cannot stop resisting his urge to go bandage the poor pony's still wounded head and he carefully moves closer to start covering up the wound with the cloth floating in his magic while also hoping to provide some sort of closure with the gesture... hopefully. "Flux, I..." He struggles with finding words for a moment before he carefully tries to offer some kind of comfort to his friend. "...You... don't need an excuse Flux. We, well, we're your friends. Being there when needed is what friends should do, so... You don't need to distance yourself from us."

Moxie had looked on with empathy for the stallion as he opened up about the crushing emotions and thoughts that had been beating him down for so long. She felt her eyes grow damp and as Flux finished and Moon replied, she tried to shake them away. She knew exactly how Flux felt. Not a day went by where she wasn't haunted by the day she had returned to her home to find not only her home destroyed but her companion gone and most likely dead. She missed Forest every moment, and also longed for her brother to come back to her - alive. Flux's message of his well being had only served her ease of mind for a few days, and now that she knew he was getting involved with fighting enemy camps it had made her fretting for his safety worse. But these thoughts were her burden to carry alone for now. Right now, Flux had reached his own breaking point and needed her to be strong to help him get past it.
"Don't worry about us Flux," she laughed through teary eyes as she wiped her cheeks clear of the troublesome liquid. "We're all fighters here, you're not a jinx and you never will be." Letting her bangs fall to cover her eyes, attempting to hide the weakness behind them, she went on with a tone that held no doubt. "Your family loves you and always will, and they will always want you to find them, but only when it is the right time. Don't break their hearts by doing something irrational and getting yourself imprisoned or worse... Be smart. You'll find your family one day.... And I'll be there to help you if you want it." Moxie turned to look at Moon with an emotional smile, knowing all too well what he must be missing right now. "That goes for you too Moon."

Despite the guilty feelings that Flux was getting from burdening his friends with his own problems, as Moon laid the bandage on his head he realized that he actually did feel better, both the wound and his mind. Maybe it was putting the thoughts into order so that he could try to tell them what had been in his head for so long, or maybe it was a simple matter of understanding in time. Whatever the factor, it seemed that now facing his own pent-up feelings left him able to sort them out. Moxie and Moon were, of course, right, and he never should have doubted for a second that they would help him if he asked them to.
His hoof went to his head when he felt Moon's adjustments finish on the strip of cloth, and he sat back up to offer the healer a grateful look. "Thank you. Thank you both," he said as he looked between them, meaning both their concern and help with his injury as well as the support he knew was growing between them as friends, as family. "I'll...work this out, somehow." After a short pause he continued. "Perhaps I'm not in such a bad position as I must have thought. I still have you guys, my other family. I just want to do right by everyone."

Moon was honestly a little surprised as Moxie mentioned him as well, and he realized that she was right. It was easy sometimes to forget that one wasn't alone in all this, including himself. So he offered her a small smile, both sad and hopeful at the same time before turning back to Flux, giving the bandage a final look-over before deciding that he was done. Flux's words then gives him some reassurance, the feeling spreading through his chest as a slight warmness, that he was doing good, so he bows his head slightly in thanks.
"Don't you worry Flux. We'll all get through this... one way or another."

"You WILL do right by everypony here, you already have." Moxie gave him a reassuring smile as she began to stroll towards the door. "Get some rest Flux, and dont push yourself so hard. I want you to promise me you'll tell me if you're bothered by thoughts like this. And Moon? thanks." She gave them both a small nod and left the cave. She needed to clear her head. Feeling rather confused about Flux's hushed comment earlier, Moxie tried to shake it off and only think about the good exchange and progress they had just made together with Moon instead. Sighing, she decided it might be good for her to get her secondary task for today over with earlier and began to trot briskly down the cavern tunnels.

Flux gave Moon the best pass for a smile he could manage before turning his attention to Moxie's words. "I will," he whispered as she trotted away. He stared at the stone archway she passed through for a few seconds before letting out the rest of the breath that he hadn't realized he'd been holding. "She's really something..." he muttered as he looked down at his hooves. As his field of vision changed he caught sight of Moon and remembered that he wasn't alone, jerking back before the motion made his head throb.
He sucked in a hissing breath and put a hoof over the bandage, holding it until the pain died back down. When he opened his eyes, he looked at the healer with a calculating gaze and wondering if he'd said too much.

[Enter Deuterium and Resistance]
Making a noise to signal he was coming in, a rather large and bulky stallion could soon be seen helping carry a pony leaning onto him. Thankful they got here, the camp guard had tried to reach out for someponys attention. "Hello? Moonlight Scroll? This stallion is in need of a bed.right away."

Deuterium ambled in by the side of the large stallion, looking rather pale, and much worse than he let on. He didn't personally feel that his condition was that bad, but apparently the other Resistance members thought so...

Moon followed Moxie with his eyes as she left the room, glad to know her. It was good to know that some still managed to be so full of life in a world where it now seemed the opposite was more common. He however perks up as Flux suddenly speaks up and tilts his head slightly at what they could mean. He gives the stallion a curious, and somewhat suspicious, look, only to see him quickly jerk his head away from the door, clutching his bandaged head. The medical pony simply mentally chuckles and turns away...
But quickly snaps his head towards the entrance as it soon was being used once more. Quickly noting the condition of the pony leaning onto the bigger one, he gestures towards one of the sickbeds in the room while going into doctor mode. "Take him over there. What happened? How is he feeling?" He asks in quick succession as he himself approaches, looking over Deut closely.

"I feel, in medically accurate terms, like crap." Deut replied, hanging his head as his migraine worsened. "Though I'm sure it's not that important... I mean, I'm not vomiting or having seizures or anything..."
"Even so, you're in a pretty bad way, now that I think about it."
Deut muttered under his breath to the voice in his head "Uuugh... Don't talk too much Pandy, you're making my migraine worse."
"OK, ok, I'll be quiet..."

With the arrival of the other ponies into the chamber Flux knew he needed to clear out. In addition to letting Moon focus his attention and abilities where they were more needed, putting four ponies together into this space had started to make him feel kind of cramped, an effect that he'd noticed grow from living in the caves here, and the longer he went without going truly outside and into the sky's comforting hold the easier it was to start feeling claustrophobic.
The pegasus quietly offered his thanks to the healer once more before keeping out of the way as he made his way out the cavern's exit. He needed to go find some water and move on with his responsibilities for the day.

The unicorn gives Flux a quick nod as the pegasus leaves before turning his full attention towards his new patient. "Nonsense, a headache is more than enough reason for anypony to come see me. Now lie down here..." He says and, without waiting for his reply, forces Deut gently down into the awaiting sickbed. He then places his hoof over Deut's forehead, feeling for a fever. He quickly retracts it as there is none.
"And would you mind maybe specifying? How do you feel like "crap"? Headaches, weakness, coughing...?" He asks, in his mind already excluding some symptoms and pondering what would be of use here.

"Well, my head feels like it's going to explode, for starters..." Deut began. "I feel kinda shaky and groggy, and apparently I'm also running a high temperature... Not to mention I feel like putting any food in my mouth would make me throw up last night's..."

The stallion nods along at each mentioned symptom, making mental notes for what to bring. "Right, right. Difficult eating you say?" He asks, or rather he thinks out loud, as he turns around to a shelf filled with many simple clay pots and vials and lifts off some, examining their contents to make sure that he got what he wanted. "Here we are, blackroot. Should help with the headache at least." He thinks as he finds the jar containing his supply of dried up black roots, which were sadly not found around the mountains too often... he'd need to stock up on those. He mentally notes as he takes out a few of the roots and turns back to his patient.
"Hmm, now, I may not be able to do anything drastic but this" He presented Deut with the roots at this. "should be able to ease some of your pains. Ah, and just chew these. Do not swallow." He says, being sure to point his instructions out, before turning away once more to look for some other things. The roots would be very bitter to chew but the headache should begin to subside somewhat. "Do you have any idea how these pains of your came to be? Have you kept yourself warm and dry enough? Maybe eating something strange?" He suggests as he continues to look for the right medicines.

"More like difficulty having anything to do with food, and feeling generally blegh on top of it. Not the foggiest what might have brought this on..." Deut replied to Moon's questions, chewing on the blackroot. It was indeed very bitter, but he felt his headache subsiding just a tiny bit as he crushed it between his teeth.
He himself was beginning to question it... He'd obviously come down with something, but what it was remained to be seen. Ah well, he thought to himself, that's what moon's here to do...

"Peculiar..." He pondered as he listened to what Deut had to say. "I suppose this is why I prefer treating physical wounds. At least it usually is fairly obvious what is the problem then..." He thinks, frowning slightly as he recognizes his own limits... again. He however does his best to not let it show and so gives his patient a quick supportive smile. Something he'd learn was that ponies usually wanted somepony to believe in, somepony to rely on, when in trouble, and as the "doctor", that had to be him.
"Now, there's little else I can do for you now besides recommending you to take it easy, rest and drink lots of water. I will try to brew something for your more pressing symptoms, but for now, that is all I can do until I know more about this sickness you have. But nonetheless, rest is key so feel free to rest here. If this takes longer than anticipated, I can go talk with the cooks and those responsible for your roles today." He says, offering Deut a friendly smile as he levitates over some books to consult for the appropriate brew.

[Enter Genesee and Trixie from the Common Quarters]
Genesee and Trixie steadily walked down the long hallway towards the medical grotto, their voices echoing on the slick cave walls. "We definitely need more ponies for defense magic training, we are surely lacking in talented unicorn trainers. It's easy to be good at something but it can be hard to find unicorns who actually know how to teach another the same skill, you know?" Genesee conversed with Trixie as they drew closer to their destination. Already Genesee was enjoying this mare. Moon had picked his mate wisely, she was smart, talented, and extremely loyal to him to have traveled so far to find him. It made him happy to be able to bring her to him after all these years.

"Thanks..." Deut replied to Moon, looking around for somewhere to lie down. Standing up was starting to feel like a chore and his legs begged him to just go back to bed. Chewing the root was helping with the headache though, and he was honestly quite glad that he wasn't supposecd ot swallow it - if he even attempted to do so it felt like he might throw up.
He wondered if he should tell Moon about the dreams... Though he'd been having them since ages, and never really told anyone. They probably weren't connected... The damage they did wasn't physical, but mental. And besides, could dreams even cause illness? Deut didn't bother to think though, because doing so seemed to undo all the work that chewing the root did.

Trixie followed closely behind Genesee listening to his words and needs. Trixie smiled and nodded at his words. "Well my defensive magic is.. Either a bit strong for ponies to start or is illusionairy. I don't know how much use that will be to you, but I can try to teach it to others. I was once tasked with teaching a group of unicorns at the palace some magic.." She sighed glad that she didn't spend to much time actually doing that.

Upon noticing that Deut was standing up, Moon was quick to gesture him to lay back down again. "No no, no need to stand up if you don't feel like it. You can continue to lay there until you feel well enough to stand up." He says, offering him a smile from behind the book he read. "Take your time." He adds before looking back to the book, switching between pages as he looked for the appropriate concoction.
He is distracted however as his ears catch the sound of approaching voices and hooves landing on rock. He quite quickly recognized the first voice as the deep one belonging to the camp-leader. "Maybe he wants to resume from where he left?" He wondered, before recognizing that he was in fact talking to somepony else. However when the second voice answered, he felt as if everything stopped for a second as he quickly lifted his muzzle away from the book and towards the entrance, chock and almost disbelief apparent on his face. "It couldn't...?" He thought, his heart suddenly starting to pound in his chest as he awaited whoever it was that was about to enter.

As per Moon's gesture, Deut dragged himself back onto the bed, his stomache unpleasantly gurgling a bit. He was glad to not be alone here, to have friends here he knew from long before the War. Even in his current state, it made him somewhat happy to know that they were there...
And it made him sad again remembering that every night he had to watch them being taken away. The images flashed through his head again, though he didn't want them to... Slowly but surely, a tear ran down his cheek...

Genesee gave her a smile at the thought of her teaching illusionary magic. "You know, we actually dont have any teachers for that. I'm sure it would come in handy for keeping us well hidden! But you can talk more about that with Moon."
His words bounced off the grotto walls as they made their way around the corner and entered the large medical cave. As soon as he saw Moon's face, Genesee grinned with a chuckle. "Well now.... it looks like I hardly have to make the announcement, but I will anyways. Moon, I'm very pleased to announce that Trixie has made her way into our camp, unscathed and very eager to see you."

[Enter Forte]
After a few minutes of searching and asking around, Forte finally found the pony he was looking for. He entered the Medical grotto and approached Genesee, all but ignoring the other ponies around. "Genesee, sir, can I have a word with you in private?" He asked. He tried to keep his voice calm, using the same respectful language he reserved for his superiors, but there was a forceful undertone that implied his true motivations.

"I would be delighted to train the ponies here illusionairy magic, though it would take a great deal of doing to hide this place I am afraid. Actually, I do have a scratch on my flank due to that saber, but it's hardly anything worth caring about." Trixie said to Genesee with a soft smile finally turning her head towards her goal, her love Moon. Trixie couldn't hold it back anymore and galloped over to Moon tackling him and planting a passionate kiss onto his lips.
"Oh, I have missed you oh so very much Moon!"

The sudden commotion that was happening made Deut's headache even worse than it was before. He groaned and lay down, just beginning to cry a little as the memories became physically painful to bring back as well as mentally...
