The main road runs through this small town from forest entrance to the large ruins of canterlot city. Once home to a local princess, is now nothing more then wasteland for the slaves still living here.

"Do not go gentle into that goodnight. Rage, rage against the dying of the light. Though wise men at their end know dark is right, because their words had forked no lightning, they do not go gentle into that goodnight. Good men, the last wave by, crying how bright their frail deeds might have danced in a green bay...
Rage, rage against the dying of the light."
These words have repeated in the mind of the lonesome stranger as he makes his way into the grotesque shadow of what was once a town. Though Night Whisper had learned long ago to mind his surroundings, he couldn't shake the veil those words had over his senses. They were the last words that his master had told him before the bat pony left his newfound home in Saddle Arabia. At first, Night hadn't realized the full importance of what had been spoken to him, though as tight of a stranglehold it had taken over him, it could not extinguish the fire in his gut.
Night Whisper's glowing golden eyes peer through the wrappings on his face, observing the rubble around him. It was a terrible sight to behold... Night had only been to Ponyville once prior to the war, though the one thing that stuck out in his mind was the vibrant colors... Now, the village was a putrid mixture of browns and greys, with no life to be found. Taking a deep breath and nearly coughing up the smokey air, the lonesome wanderer made his way though the town.

Running as fast as she could through the dead street of Ponyville, a teenage unicorn mare had been huffing as she stopped to catch her breath. Catching a glimpse of the stallion in robes, the pink coated red maned pony had booked it in his direction. Nearly trambling over the bat pony, Ruby Petal had skidded to a successful stop. "Please sir, can you hel-p... "
Noting then by the shape of his eyes at his species, Ruby hesitantly begun to back away in a fearful manner. "N-nightmare Moon's guards.. I did not mean dis..respect. i saw some..pony in the palace here.. its not safe sir."

Night looks on wearily as the young mare rushed towards him. Oddly enough, she had been the only pony he had come into contact with since approaching the run down town. She looked harmless enough, and Night wasn't going to attack anypony without being attacked himself. Feeling his stomach knot when being mistaken for one of Nightmare Moon's soldiers, the bat shakes his head lightly. Night was used to racist comments, and this mare was fairly young, so he decided to let it slide.
"I'm not-" He sighs, dropping the subject.
"Whats wrong?"

"A..a stallion went into the palace here! Everypony here knows to avoid that building at all costs.. s-ir, there's a massive beast in there. He's going to be slaughtered!"
Genuinely worried for the pony and not wishing to see the death count rise, Ruby begun to pace in place. Rumor had it, that ponies seen going in had never come out. But maybe, just maybe, with a soldier helping, the pony might make it out alove after all. Starting to run in the direction of Twilights palace, she spoke outwards towards him. "Follow me!"

From the silence that saddened the town, a loud and echoing terrifying snarl could be heard from the main streets of Ponyville to the side alleys it ventured off to. Coming from the palace in town, the loud monstrosity was enough to send the remaining citizens in this town running for safety of their own.
"Its the beast!"
Some screamed and others gathered in a shaking crowd near the building as the noise continued to ring through to the many ears around. As whispers and gossip soon filled the air, the size of the creature inside had been talked about as their cowardly ways stopped them from ever actually going inside.

Before being able to ask any more questions, the mare took off. Groaning to himself slightly, he follows her towards the palace. Fighting a monster wasn't exactly on his to do list, though it became increasingly apparent that he had little choice.

Running frantic and weaving through the small crowd of individuals, Ruby just couldnt understand their reasonings. When a life was in line, she had always been brought up to help and call for help. But to see stallions and families book it to avoid another genocide, it had all felt so.. selfish. Making her way to the palace, the pink mare had pointed to the door.

[Enter Legion Voice]
Walking through the small and scared town, Legion Voice had begun to ignore the screams and annoyance throughout the years. Not giving the running crowds a second look, blue eyes stayed straight to the road ahead. With enough love in his system to last him a few days, his energy was back to its old self as the changeling begun to trot happily. Not even noticing the bat pony among the other creatures around, his main focus kept him on point with what his Queen wished of him. Mentally always unsure of where the mare of darkness was at all times, his loyalty to her would continue to grow throughout the years of the war. Still, he couldn't help but actually miss the horrifying creature in her prime. Perhaps it was her will to torture or overall bad personality? One thing was for sure, she wasn't growing soft like his mother.. The stallion lit up his now energized horn, vanishing without a trace.

Night Whisper hesitantly followed the mare towards the supposed beast. The bat wasn't looking for a fight, though he couldn't deny a pony in distress. Mentally preparing himself for any manner of terror, the bat monk took a deep breath.
"Here we go."

[Enter Cash]
"...I mean he could have just kept the clone in place so I'd have a better chance getting around. Argh, friggin setting it to explode once it's been noticed. What the heck is dat!? He doesn't work for a friggin--" Cash's conversation with himself stopped when he realized he was in town. And by Celestia, did this place look depressing. Out of all the places he's been, Cash had only seen this kind of damage in certain cities. Canterlot being one of them. After taking a deep breath, he sighed. "Bugs. So the queens army came through here. Eeesh, more like tore through." Cash stopped mid trot to look around. This place looked almost entirely barren. Cash was able to hear hoofsteps in the distance, but that was about it. Not a soul in sight. "Oy, I'm not enjoying this. But I gotta find the magic gems..." Cash shook his head to clear his nerves and continued walking.

"Hey! Wait!"
Catching up to Cash and finding himself extremely exhausted, a changeling looking like no other had came into view with a letter in his wing. Catching up and catching his breath, the obviously out of shape bug had pulled the letter from his wing to hand it to the hat wearing stallion in a polite manner. Struggling on the S symbol as per the usual changeling, the helper of his race tried not to scare him off.
"Thisss letter isss for a Chester St. Mint. That isss you isss it not? The Queen requessstss you arrive to pay taxess and discusss further mattersss."

Cash let out a heavy groan as he took the letter from the changeling. "It'd be wise for youse to never call me that again, less ya wanna get squashed-" Cash stopped himself and let out a light chuckle. "N-nevermind what I said, good on youse." Cash took another look at the letter with a raised eyebrow. "Wait a minute, I have to go there? She's a queen for frigg' sake! Ain't she busy?" Cash questioned the changeling, wrapped a hoof around his neck in a very rough, yet playful manner.

The changeling nervously allowed the embrace. With ponies and changelings now allowed to get along, the ruling on such was very strange to the bugs and hard to keep up in terms of who was their enemies and allies. Still, remembering to delete that name from his memory at the stallion's disliking of it, the changeling nodded and hoped things would remain cool between them.
"Y-ess. Apologiesss. Letter sssays sso. Queen isss busssy but needss taxess from everyone once a month. Ssshe is very wissse and would like to see you. Nothing isss wrong."

"Aaaaaaaaand, ol' mare needs money.... why-Ya know what, I'm not gonna care." This seemed like a necessity, granted that one of the rulers wanted to see him, it'd be smart not to do something stupid. Though, it is gonna delay his search for magic gems. He could ask the changeling....but the thought itself seemed suicidal. "Alright, I've got some bits in my jacket. I'm sure it'd be enough." Suddenly, a thought rushed in his head. "Wait. Does she expect me to go by hoof? I mean I'm flattered she'd want me to keep this bod. But nevertheless, it'd take a minute."

The changeling blinked nervously at the creature before him. "By Hoof or train. Thisss isss not about money." Trying to put this through his head, the changeling pointed to Canterlot with another pleading look. He was merely doing his job, and only hoped things would go over well. "You may find job opportunitysss asss well."

"Ha! It's not about the money. That's rich. Ponies WITH money say that." Cash cracked his neck a bit and looked in the direction the changeling was pointing. "But, awlright. I wasn't getting anywhere in my search, so this'll be a time killer. " He gave the changeling a rough pat on the back before saying goodbye. "I'll put in a good word for ya, kid!"

[Enter Little Foot & Pegasus]
The two didn't take the train - obviously - seeing as it was a surefire way to get caught, and the midnight blue Pegasus wasn't quite sure on the Last Locust's position with the Queen. It was best to take no chances, and so they trotted all the way down the mountain, then over to Ponyville.
Once they arrived, the Pegasus was so hungry he could feel his stomach eat away at the remaining fat stored all around his body. He wasn't tired, but my gods, he could eat a horse. He looked over to Little Foot, frowning, and stopped mid trot.
"You hungry? I've got some bits here, I think." the Pegasus says, patting a pocket on his leather armor.

Standing by the corner and holding free samples of his newest invention, an older and somewhat heavyset earth pony stood tall. Light purple in color, the stallions short mane and mustache were a nice pale black as he cleared his throat before speaking. "Hot Cakes! GET your pipping mouth watering hot dough here!" Piled onto individual plates on his large platter, Mini three stacked pancakes were piled over eachother as a small cup of syrup was handed out with each sample. "Get your pumpkin spice cakes right here!"

Little Foot didn't mind the terk. She was easily able to trek down and up the mountain for days with a few breaks. The mare was easily holding out better than the pegasus before her. She nibbled on the dry roots now and then to hold off her hunger and the need to tear his leg off.
The bat pony nodded softly. "Little Foot very hungry, yes." The bat pony replied. Her ears perked up as she heard the various advertisements. She didn't understand much what they were saying, but there was food in front of them. Her curiosity took over and she walked over to the hot cakes vender. Her ears perked up and her tail wagged with a happiness that seemed closely related to how a canine would act. She sniffed the hot cakes and licked her lips. All though, they looked...small. Too small for her to eat. She whined softly then walked back to the pegasus.

As Little Foot turned to trot back to the pegasus, she would most likely get shoved out of the way as he went to the food-god with wide eyes. "P-Pumpkin? Did you say pumpkin?" he asks, instantly grabbing one and shoving it in his mouth.
Pumpkin pie was his favorite pie, Pumpkin scent was his favorite scent, Pumpkin spiced coffee was his favorite coffee, and pumpkin was his favorite plant! This was destiny! An omen! He chewed on the small thing with a delight no living pony could even comprehend.

[Enter with a flash of magic accompanied by Legion Voice]

Brought to this town by his magic, Legion blinked in slight jealousy. Pleased to know he wasn't a changeling that could read emotions, the stallion turned to Joxer's direction. Looking over the town and always happy to be in small places, he enjoyed the peaceful quiet side to the world. Standing next to the bench, he hoped to not sound too nice at his comment to come.
"Well done. Your work is appreciated. I live over here." Walking through the main street, he could see his home from a few yards away. Pleased to be getting rid of the armor and its weight, it had always felt like a ln inconvenience. "You have magical talent. It will be handy to our line of work."

Joxer chuckles softly at the stoic mannerisms of Legion, watching him walk away before teleporting beside him and slowly walking with him. He looks curious as he leans in towards him, trying his best to not smirk.
"That's all that you have to say on the matter? No questions? No real comments? Do changelings not have emotions or something?" He hums and pokes his side playfully as he stands normally, walking on. "You must have an on switch somewhere."

Continuing to walk with a normal pace, the soldier had felt himself twitch in irritation. Shifting a lightly colored eye to Joxer's direction at the words he chose to use upon addressing him, Legion huffed on. Ponies these days never changed, their obnoxious nosy behavior was not something he admired in the slightest. Getting poked as this creature continued to egg him on, the changeling spoke flatly.
"I was trained to be a professional. From what I see, you were not. Changeling's have emotions, we happen to do a better job of keeping them on a personal level. If you'll excuse me, my comment to your power was real however brief for one reason only." Turning to face Joxer completely, Legion spoke with a smile. "You wont be alive long enough for it to improve. Why do you think there was a job opening? The team I was leading had gotten slaughtered. Unable to barely escape with my own life, I suggest you put a brain where that voice comes from. Death is an easy option here."

Joxer walks along beside the small creature, smiling softly as he sees the creature slowly but surely become irritated. As Legion speaks, he hums softly to himself and smiles before looking completely neutral as Legion stops moving and turns to him with a smile. At the sight of the smile, Joxer's eyes seem to flare a little brighter and look amused as he gets the rather... unimpressive attempt to try and make him humble. As Legion finishes with his rather stirring tale, Joxer tries to act sad before breaking out into a short bark of laughter and a smirk.
"Oh, you don't think I keep my feelings personal? You're definitely right there, though I doubt you're reading my current emotions correctly. I'm an entirely different breed of professional, little bug." He laughs softly before staring down at Legion, smirk turning into a sort of knowing grin. "Just because you barely escaped alive with your life, doesn't mean that I won't live long enough to improve. It just means you failed to keep your team together and lost them all. Professional doesn't mean that you can hide your emotions, professional means you know how to get things done."
With a soft snort, Joxer starts to walk around Legion, his smirk gone as he looks on. "When things go bad, don't worry, I won't be the one dying. But if you'd like, I'll save you." His voice sounds nostalgic and sad before turning into his old self. "Sorry, if I insulted you. But you really shouldn't poke at tortured beings."

Grinding his sharp fangs and attempting to see life through this arrogant pony's green eyes, Legion allowed himself to breathe. Was this all a test of his will to keep things together? Knowing his Queen was good at that, the changeling knew he had to lighten up for it all to go underway. This stallion may have been smart and talented, but with his clearly unbalanced personality, did he make a good partner? Baffled by the rude bitter words spewing from his lips, the stallion wished he could have eaten this thing on the spot.
"You insolent brat!"
Hearing his next words however had set the changeling off worse then ever before. Walking to close the distance between the two, a stray hoof had flung from behind his off posture as it attempted to slam into the pony's face. With a punch underway, his horn had lit up just the same. Depending on if his hit landed, his horn was prepared for more as it swiftly sent out a surrounding aura to his location, hopefully trapping him in the process.
"HOW dare you! You know nothing of what happened on the battle field. How could you?! You know absolutely nothing of personal loss! Boohoo your life is so sad. It must be so tiring to be at the top of the species list. When you have to decide whether to end your teams misery or allow them to continue to suffer, I bet you'd let them suffer! They were half dead, I was held in a separate place from my pack! You know literally nothing of sacrifice, go home to your mommy you selfish prick!"

Knowing that what he said had irked him to a point unimaginable, Joxer hums softly as Legion starts to let his emotions show. As if in slow motion, Joxer stares sadly at the hoof that comes towards his face, closing his eyes slightly as if accepting it. A slight tear travels down his face as he takes a deep breath, staggering back as the hoof connects, coughing up a little blood and rubbing his jaw after he manages to stand up straight again. Noticing the spell being cast, he hums and stares down at Legion as he rubs his jaw, looking somber as he talks.
"I'm not trying to compare my life story to yours, Legion, but what you need to realize is that I actually do care. I don't care about your past, I don't care about my future. And even though you may be a changeling, I do care about yours. I'm sure the ones who died alongside you were loyal and you cared greatly, but there is no need to compare their lives to mine, when mine obviously does not matter." He spits out some more blood and licks his lips, "If you want to continue to beat me down, then I invite you to."

Dissipating his magical aura with a huff and sigh, Legion couldnt understand this pony's mood swings one bit. Stomping a hoof and rolling his eyes, the changeling soldier had begun to trot passed the annoying and confusing stallion with a grumble to his step. Stopping to the side of him however, light shaded eyes glared into the green eyes of his opponent with a look that could only scream dangerous. While he heard Joxer apologize and try to lighten up on the situation, his words had drove Legion too far. Running a hoof over his own face and trying to understand from multiple points of view, he found himself starting to act more pony like then he thought.
"Keep a damn straight emotional record, I dont need any of this wavy crap on my team. The Queen may have put you here, but I can take you out."
With a voice softening by the second at his sentence, the stallion walked onward. Using that as his acceptance of an apology and not wishing to hear word of the Queen's anger for hurting a favorite of hers, Legion Voice aimed to play it safe. "Your life, it matters. Now, are we clear to move onward?"
