This is the official rankings of character's raw power, combat ability and general toughness. This list is made to aid in roleplaying combat. NOTE: This list does not account for strategy, or any situational circumstances. IE a character from tier 3 could conceivably defeat a character from tier 2 (Or even tier 1) with strategy, teamwork or even dumb luck. Nothing is set in stone, but this list is a general outline of how effective certain character's are in combat situations. This list is sorted in descending order (Top of Tier 1 being the strongest, bottom of Tier 4 being the weakest). Characters that are placed on the same dash (-) are assumed to be roughly equal in strength, there is no 'left to right is strongest' or vice versa.
Second note, general rules for RPing combat can be found here.

Where am I?
You'd be surprised to hear how often I get this question, members not knowing for sure where they should sit on the combat tier chart. Well clueless ponies, I whipped up this handy dandy guide just for you!
So, let's start out with the obvious. Do you see your OC mentioned by name on the chart? Then congratulations, that's where you sit on the power scale! Unhappy where I've placed you and think you should be higher/lower? Shoot me a personal message and make your case.
So, assuming your OC isn't mentioned by name and you can't seem to relate to any of the vague categories, you have now found yourself in a bit of a pickle. This is the time to ask yourself a few key questions;
1. What species is my OC? This is often a fairly overlooked question, but it's relevant nonetheless. If your OC is a Gryphon, Minotaur or any other non pony like beast, you will likely find yourself being placed in the 'Exotic Troops' section (or higher with my discretion . ) if your OC is a pony, or anything similar to a pony (bat pony, changeling ect... ) that is where things get more complicated. Note, hybrids such as pony/changelings (which are RARE by the way), are to be considered more pony like than not.
2. How often does my OC fight? Does he/she enjoy fighting? This is the question that separates the colts from the stallions. Speaking of witch, if your OC is a child, you are automatically placed in the 'Foals' section, no exceptions. I won't accept any ass kicking 5 year olds. So now that it's safe to say your OC is a grown adult, you have to ask yourself if your OC has a violent nature, or a history of violence. If you answered no, your OC would be classified as a 'Non Combat Centric OC' in Tier 4. I have the gut feeling that most of your OCs are fighters however, so let's get to sorting. There are two different categories for scrappy OCs, 'Combat Centric OC's' and 'Trained OCs'. What's the difference you ask? 'Trained OCs' are exclusive to OCs with legitimate combat training, ie they were in the Royal Guard, or the were trained by monks (in my case both), or something along these lines. Note, this has to be legitimate training, something like 'my uncle taught me how to fight' isn't credible, unless that uncle had legitimate credentials. So your street tough OC with no training under his belt would not qualify for 'Trained', and would instead be 'Combat Centric'. Legitimate instruction and training will always be more effective than self taught fighters.

3. God tier is set in stone, epic tier is likely out of your league. If you think your OC deserves to be in Tier 1 (God Tier), you're wrong. Straight up, not even a debate here. These are hands down the most scary, powerful creatures in the MLP universe period. If you even feel the need to make the case, your OC is hilariously overpowered and will likely not be approved in the first place. Tier 2 (Epic Tier) is mostly reserved for Alicorns or similarly powerful beings. As you all remember (because you read the rules for creating a character like a good little boy), we don't accept Alicorn OCs. While it's not impossible to be placed in tier 2, you'd have to make a very strong case for me even to consider it. Relax, being in tier 3 doesn't make you weak. In fact, the majority of you will be placed in tier 3. But if you are a pony who is just trying to live a normal life and cringe at the sight of blood, Tier 4 will work well for your OC.
