Name: Cobblestone Road
Nickname: Cobblestone, Trips, Tripping Stone
Age: Late twenties
Gender: Mare
Species: Earth Pony
Place of Birth: Canterlot
Occupation: Leader of the Office For Infrastructure in OurTown
Allegiance: Anti-New Queens and King
Relationship Status: Single
Mane: Silver grey, short and unkempt, often sweaty from work.
Eyes: Green
Living Relatives: River Road (brother), parents' location unknown
General Description: Though her fur is more of a dusty brown than light ochre, she’s been called the ‘Earth Pony Daring Do’ by her friends a few times. Built only slightly more muscular to the outside than her younger brother, it’s easy to underestimate Cobblestone. But a long line of proud earth pony ancestors and an upbringing in what was probably the most prestigious working family of Canterlot turned her into a young mare with boundless strength and skill in her legs. Just like most (if not all) ponies in the main line of the Road family, she knows how to break a boulder into a variety of perfect shapes with just one good buck… Basically making them the Apple Family of infrastructure.
Half of the time she's sweaty and dirty from work, the other time she dresses up and suddenly looks like a pony from the Canterlot nobility (or on some rare occasions a Photo Finish model). As much as she is a physical worker she is also a businesspony and lesser nobility and knows how to dress for the occasion.
Cobblestone is easygoing and smart, though she has become a bit cynical since the war five years ago. She’s dedicated and puts her all into every job, inspiring those around her to do the same. She also has a ‘serious face’ that makes her look ten years older and twenty years more experienced, having spent a couple months months in an internship directly under Filthy Rich as a teenager.
Cutie Mark: Her cutie mark are four uneven cobblestones arranged in a square, the bottom left one with a crack through the middle. The deeper meaning of it aside from the obvious talent for masonry is something only she knows for sure.
Skills:Cobblestone is strong, smart, witty, and the bestest big sister ever.
Cobblestone is clever and witty, with strength and precision in her legs and a devastating kick in her right hind leg. She is pretty smart and a pretty smartflank.
She is also good at organizing, business and everything else she had to learn to take over the intimidatingly large family business. She has a decent grasp on Equestrian politics, foreign politics and politic history. She has a major in business analytics and minors in politics and masonry from the Canterlot Academy.
Faults: Just like her brother (and her father, and mother, and grandma, and…) she can be stubborn as a Cranky Donkey at times. She’s far better at hiding it and compromising, though, which is to say she is very good at making other ponies think she had to compromise. From her training to become the CEO of a company, she still has a manipulative streak, cold rational thinking and seemingly uncaring appearance that comes through on occasion, especially when she’s under stress.
She also tends to lose focus of how strong she really is sometimes, causing her to break things when she’s distracted or stressed. Or angry. She’s scary when she is angry.
Also, she finds ponies who trip and fall to be absolutely hilarious.
Equipment: Aside from everything they managed to liquidate of their family’s company before they left, she didn’t take much along when she left Canterlot. A couple trinkets, some family heirlooms and her masonry kit (including two sets of high-quality masonry horseshoes).
Backstory: As a filly, Cobblestone learned the family trade (masonry and road-paving). She also learned some hoof-fu from her uncle and dirty streetfighting from her grandma. As a teenager she spent several months working an internship under the business associate and family friend Filthy Rich, who taught her a lot about businesses and market forces in general and negotiating in particular. After that she spent a few years at the Canterlot Academy, getting her degrees.
When the war started, she and her brother took as much of the family fortune as they could liquidate and left the heart of Equestria, travelling the roads for some time and gathering more ponies and other creatures unwilling to put up with Lord Tenebris’ rule, until they finally found an abandoned village somewhere hidden in a mountain range just south of the Crystal Mountains. She became the expert on infrastructure and trade, organizing the rebuilding efforts and taking over negotiations on the few occassions when they moved out from the town to buy goods in other towns or from travelling vendors.
To protect herself, she took on the name of Tripping Stone when they reached OurTown, taking a new name like many of the ponies in town.
