At this point, the guards finally started to stream into the main street from every other corner of the city. Orders were screamed, magic was focused and various duties were performed in a matter of seconds. Even with the terrifying and deadly dragon, a few stronger willed guards kept their mind calm as they did as they were told.
The evacuation of the main street and most of Canterlot had already begun with guards dashing around, dodging the dragon's attacks as good as possible while shielding or carrying the civilians that were unlucky enough to still be around the mad beast. Unicorns used their magic in an attempt to douse or kill the flames while others used their magic to teleport the rest of the ponies that planned on running rather than fighting into a safe distance, one by one.
A bulk of guards, mostly earth ponies in heavy armor and pegasus ponies with flying gear made up for a distraction while the citizens were being evacuated. With a thread of this size, the attack plan was to form little squads so they could distract the two headed drake from as many sides as possible, perhaps landing a hit on spots the dragon couldn't cover with all the little groups attacking at the same time. Not all of them would survive of course, seeing as one swipe could be enough to send a whole squad flying or one breath of fire would let the ponies burn and boil in their armor.
A few guards noticed the various ponies already fighting against the dragon but none of them felt like explaining to them in the heat of battle that they were supposted to go. They would need as much help as possible to deal with the intruder so if they wanted to fight along the guard, why not let them.

Steel would have been blown away by the dragon's wind as well, the force sure enough strong enough as it was. Thst is if it wasn't for him stabbing his sheathed blade into the ground. He held on for dear life the the wind rocked his body. The blade held tight though, keeping him in place until it died down. As soon as it did, the stallion went right to work. Closing the distance between him in the drake.

[eventually finds his way from Palace hallways]
Max finally arrived with the hordes of changelings and Guard ponies to do battle with this beast. Mathew could feel the reminisce gust of the wind the drake let out push him back a bit. Once he regained his footing and noticed so many civilian ponies in this fight it angered him a little at the fact why these civilians were not forced to evacuated and let those trained to take on the wild creatures of this world.
Max decided to let it slide, but if they got in his men's way he would deal with them since he found it odd that some of these Civilians were bold enough to fight a drake. Since Matthew had no armor seeing he couldn't even remember where his quarters were to obtain it; he would start giving out orders to his fellow comrades to further increase their power in numbers against this dragon rather than taking this beast head on and possibly getting killed in the process.

Orange saw the attacks coming from the dragon's body language. It wasn't that hard to tell what it was preparing to do. Orange teleported a short distance away to avoid the clench jaws of the dragon and hid behind a nearby building to catch her breath. While catching her breath she noticed more ponies had begun arriving even the guard. Still she had an impending sense of dread no matter how many ponies showed up to help. Though being an empath these feelings might not be entirely her own. She did her best to shake them off before peaking out at the dragon watching it every move getting ready for an ambush.
The guards of the streets and any under Chrissy's rule would know this pony to be Orange Glow, daughter of the queen.

Failing to swipe both ponies, the infuriating beast was done playing hide and seek. Unable to dodge the first frozen blast focused on by the skilled lavender unicorn below, the right head had been far too distracted. Crackling over its fire breathing muzzle, the artic rock encasted his maw frozen shut. Furiously swiping its sharp claws to tear through the magical enchantment, the dragon had been thrown off put. Stomping backwards and avoiding Noble's second blow, wings flashed back in an effort to keep his balance.
Flapping his wings heavily, the coursing winds that followed were beyond necessary. Gazing for a better point of view, the left head & neck had shifted to the palace gates with a thickening tongue glazing over his lips with an eager expression. What he was looking for, was close. Starting to charge away from the soldiers that threatened to tie him down, Augite bolted towards the palace gates with haste.
Finally managing to break free from his mouths icy entrapment, flames spewed hotter then ever before. Spiraling out in cirles over the city street behind them, his attempts to kill off the citizens were atad overkill. Harder to dodge, the creatures in the main street would find themselves scurrying for their lives. Singing the cement as it touched the grounds surface once again, his scorching breath was on a vengeful path. Hating ice and everything that went along with it, Vaan, Himmel, Noble, Mathew, Steel & the soldiers were all in danger as the fire spread rapidly. Streaking hot for the oil shop nearby, Orange Glow & Steel's direct sight line could notice the major problem lining head. If the flames reached that store, an explosion could occur!

"Yeah yeah...don't mention it. Ponies might start thinking I'm a nice guy," Vaan barely managed to say to Himmel as he returned air into his lungs.
He let out a long sigh and along with air came a cough of blood. He knew something inside of him was hurt, but he didn't know what. Surprisingly, he didn't feel much pain from the impact. He knew adrenaline was pumping, helping to block the pain. He also knew it would wear off soon ,and he'd be hit by untold amounts of suffering. He needed to act quick.
With a grunt, he lifted his blue scarf to wipe his blood away from his beak. No sooner than he did this, he felt the beast rise form the ground, obviously angered by the onslaught of attacks. Vaan smiled a bit as he slowly rose from his position. He was thinking they somehow managed to fight the beast off; their battle over. Though, when he saw the flames spew from the dragon's mouth, his smile faded away.
The flames surrounded his position and quickly spread. If he'd stay where he was, he'd would burn without much as a though, and he truly didn't want that. Turning to Himmel, the griffin's look told him they had to get out of there.

Noble got to his hooves as fast as he could, bolting away from the flames now beginning to encircle them. The options before him were limited, and there was little time to consider what must be done. In slow motion, his mind raced through and he broke away from the fight. The others could likely handle it, and the civilians were trapped behind gates of flame. If he didn't try and save them, why was he fighting the dragon in the first place?
Scooping up some rocks and enchanting them, placing them in his pouch for now, he approached a few guards. "Requesting help. There's ponies in need of rescuing. I need somepony to help me get them out and put out the flames." He said. If the declined in favor of a different method, he'd have to do it himself. He had no time to argue over this while civilians were in danger.

Himmel looked back towards the one who saved him with a look of his own. "I know that look and the answer is no. A hero never backs down from a job. And I've been at this guy way before you." He tightened the scarf that was bound to his own waist a little tighter, wincing in pain as he did so but still staying up.
"We need to by time so the others can save everypony else...so you want to help me or not?" He looked towards the griffon.

As soon as the dragon had used his fiery breath to burn the streets all around, the guards tactics shifted from containing the dragon to saving themselfs and this part of the city. The unlucky creatures that had been too close to the beast were boiled alive in their armor, the flames eating them up within seconds. A few of the pegasi had managed to dodge the attack by making a 180 in the air but all the other guards charging at the dragon, earth ponies and unicorns perished without a way of defending themselfs. No armor and no magical shield was strong enough to block such a blow from the beast.
For the guards, there was one priority target though. And as such, several of the guards had tried approach Orange during the fire and the destruction once they had managed to track where she had gone to. The queen's daughter had to be saved under any circumstances. Even if that meant a few ponies dying while trying to retrieve and defend her from the beast. A few pegasus and changelings had already begun to circle above the building she was hiding in, ready to swoop down and take her once there was the order or the opportunity.
Once the beast had stormed off, the group of guards, the old ones and the new ones that Mathew had brought with him, parted into three groups. One group stormed right after the beast as quick as possible as soon as one of the commanding officers screamed the orders. The other two stayed behind and either tried to save civilians or to douse the flames as the oil shop was spotted rather quickly. Unicorns and changelings tried to shield the shop with ther magic, fighting off the fire so it wouldn't be able to reach a single spot of the oil shop. An explosion would be devistating!
Upon Noble speaking up, a few guards had already positioned in a circle, the highest ranking guard of the bunch nodding towards the unicorn with a grim looking face "We are trying our best already but tell us where more of the civilians are. We have to save as many as possible"

Steel's eyes had widened by degrees upon seeing the intensity of the flame coming towards him. He only had seconds before diving behind cover, the stallion road out the attack as best he could muster, the flames burning everything and everypony that was unlucky enough to get caught within them. He growled before slipping from behind his hiding spot, using his teeth to untie the band that held his blade within its scabbard. A creature as crewl as this does not deserve the right to exist. He had no other choice but to destoyed it...if nothing else but for his daughter's sake.
He once again charged foward, the heat of the flames and the rush of the wind whipping him across the face. The dragon was fast, but the stallion was faster. He latched onto its tail, the blade stabbing hard, braking past the thick scales and stabbing sweet succulent flesh underneath.

Orange Glow quickly made her way over to the oil store noticing the guards and changelings trying to save her she quickly shouted to them. "Don't you dare save me unless I actually need it, we have a bigger problem here other than me being in trouble"
While shouting to the guards and others trying to save her she closed the distance between her and the oil shop, being new at this type of magic she knew it'd take a lot out her of her to but she'd agreed to herself she'd do it to save the others. She took a brief moment to look around and to concentrate, she put her hoof against the shop. After a few moments the shop its self began to glow and eventually turned into a big cabbage cart. Noticing the fire raining down above her the heat becoming too much for her she quickly fled before she was struck by the flames. Once in the air she began to pant from exhaustion, she was right that was a lot of magic to use and she could feel its after effects. She quickly took off behind cover again monitoring the situation.

Mathew witnessed his men being roasted alive in their own armor before being blinded by the dragons fiery breath as the flames circled in a giant area. Their cries of pain and suffering could be heard and left a permanent mark in his brain. The heat that was being produced from the flame whirl was even worst then the desert he vaguely seems to remember. Mathew had only seconds to move away or be a roasted unidentifiable corpse. Mathew would dive with all his strength to get out of the way of the flames sliding against the ground landing beside Orange behind the cover.
Max shook off the dirt on his fur before realizing who he was beside "You need to get out of here! I can take you to a safe area!"

Stopping short of the tall spiked holy gates awaiting his special touch, the dragon's tail had been punctured almost instantly. Yelping out in waves, the scaled body part had begun to bleed out. Purple in color, the fluid dripping from his sword was enough proof - He wasn't invincible. Flailing his tail rapidly, the injured beast had whipped in a tizzy.
Stumbling to turn around in an effort to seek revenge, the double headed creature had roared out in a rage. Not caring for the soldiers surrounding his position, one clawed hand had reached back towards the gate. Clenching its bars before yanking them towards his body, Augite didn't notice the Queen nor the pony standing close, his temper controlling him so. Finally breaking the one gate from its ground bound prison, its large frame was thrown directly for Steel's position. Heavy and aiming for some serious damage, the stallion would have little time for a quick maneuver.
Turning to face what was left of the gate and the soldiers ready to die for someone clearly special, the right head snickered in delight. Instead of shooting off another round of flames, the two heads had begun to snap. Crunching into bodies and clawing through others, the dragon drew closer.
[Exit Augite the dragon to palace gates]
As the others attempted to coral the flames, Orange Glows transformation magic had saved the city from combustion! With the others rescuing the civilians from the heated dangers that arose, it seemed all that was left, needed ALOT of water. Calming down through the hardened street, the flames although burning, weren't catching on to the homes far off in the distance. Crawling into the grassy fields however, their beautiful forests may be next.

Steel smiled with satisfaction as he felt the blade he held do its job perfectly. His smile faltered slightly when he flet the rage the dragon let loose from his posistion. He then began to rethink his life choices as he saw the drake in question rip the gates off its hinges and swing in a wide ark, aiming straight for him.
"Well...buck..." was all he could say. He braced for the hit, only to feel nothing at all. The sound of thunder instead filling every once of his basis senses. When he opened his eyes he found a shield of magic dissaparing from the side of him.
"What?"

"You're right. You've been at this hero thing a lot longer than I, "Vaan said, agreeing with Himmel, "However, I've been alive much longer than you. You don't keep breathing by risking your neck at every given opportunity. My only job was to make sure you don't die; mission complete. Though, I know I can't stop you from doing whatever you want to do, so it looks like I gotta stick with you, so let's make sure we both live."
The griffin knew that the only way to begin thinking about the situation was to first get them out of danger ,and second was to get a better viewpoint of what was happening. He grabbed Himmel and flapped his wings until he rose to a building that had not yet been caught by the flames. The motion hurt him like no other, but he had to keep moving ,or else both would drop. He flapped until he landed with a grunt and began looking over the street. To his horror, he saw corpses that had armor and some that didn't. He started to feel some emotions flow over him, but this wasn't a time for that. Though, he did feel a positive vibe flow over him when he saw the beast pass towards the castle with some guy on its tail. For now, the dragon wasn't his concern.
Looking back over the street Vaan could only think of one thing to stop this-water. He was fairly certain that there was a river somewhere in Canterlot and perhaps the clouds contained a drop or two. Unfortunately he didn't have the magic to lift a humongous amount of water, nor the speed to gather so many clouds(especially in his state). Fortunately, there may be some help around...somewhere.
Vaan looked towards Himmel and spoke, "You wouldn't know any tricks for a fire, would you?" Not waiting for an answer, Vaan yelled among the chaos, hoping someone would hear him, "Hey! The dragon is gone, so now we gotta put this fire out! Any Unicorns or Pegasus that can get water from the river or sky somehow...DO SOMETHING! Or burn...not my problem."

The colt squeaked as he felt himself lifted up, the feeling of flying soon overcoming his senses. From his vantage he too could see the destruction that the dragon had brought down upon the city. The colt couldn't help but curse himself for being so weak. If he couldn't save a city...
The colt shook his head. Depression got a hero nowhere in life. He had to focus on the here and now. It's what his master had taught him to do.
He looked towards the one holding him, frowning at the question. "If there was a dam of some sort...wait! That pony that was using ice magic! Maybe they can make something large enough to melt the city!"

"I can handle the flames so long as I have magic. Are there any unicorns among you with enchantment training? An ice enchantment will slow the flames considerably. There are civilians in trapped in the buildings closest to the flames. Those who were unable to run away quickly." Noble said, already scooping up more rocks to enchant and pass around to the guards to help them put out flames and slow the encroaching wildfire.
The screams and roaring flames rushed through his mind, forcing him to think only about what he would do next. Offering out the now enchanted rocks, he offered a determined grin. "Here. These are what your enchanters should make if you have any. A simple ice enchantment amped a little to create a localized coldsnap. Be careful with them. It detonates on contact after you launch or drop it."
As the Dragon moved on towards the Palace, Noble lent his magic assistance to the guard, rescuing ponies and supplying them with the enchanted rocks for fire control. Throughout this, he felt more and more alive, helping ponies and dodging danger. This was truer to himself than he'd been in years.

"Yeah...you're right. That pony..." Vaan said, agreeing with the colt. He looked until he found the unicorn passing around the rocks. Thinking of what he should do next, he figured saving the citizens would the heroic thing to do. Though, the rogue side of him figured looting would also be a viable option. He quickly shook the idea away and turned towards a door on the roof of the building. He twisted the knob and found it locked. Letting out a sigh, the griffin inserted one of his sharpened talons into the lock ,and jimmied it opened. He winced in pain as the talon broke, but the door unlocked before them, "Alright, kid. Let's do this hero thing. Though, I don't think flying down would be a good option. Don't wanna risk the fall. Plus, this building hasn't been burned...yet"
Vaan stepped into the door, making his way down to the bottom. He wasn't sure if the building had occupants or not, but he knew they'd be safer outside. As he followed the stairs, he yelled for the ponies to get out and get to safety. No more, and no less. Though, if they had heard the commotion outside, they'd be gone by now.
Stepping outside, Vaan was in the flames. The fire screamed for him to get closer; a memory of five years ago he didn't want to remember. He quickly, and nimbly made his was towards the unicorn ,while yelling for citizens to get away from the palace, for something was about to happen.
"You seem to know what you're doing here. Let me help ya." Vaan said.

Himmel followed after him, the colt keeping up well enough, despite his own injuries. He couldn't help but follow after Vaan for some reason. Something about the griffin reminded him of his master and teacher back home. The one who sent him on this quest to begin with. Maybe they are related somehow.
Himmel shook his head and frowned. No time to dwell on such things as of right now. Now? He needed to be the hero he has made himself out to be and help with saving anypony that's still alive. "I'll make sure that everypony near here helps too. We cant let this fire get anymore out of control then it already is."

The unicorn guards quickly picked up on what Noble had shown them, some of them starting right away to enchant the rocks while others dismissed the idea and rather used their own ideas to fight and stop the flames. Just moments later, the fire was bombarded with enchanted stones or other magic in an attempt to kill or at least control the flames before they could spread any further through the city and possibly destroy a big part of Canterlot. Meanwhile the pegasi guards started to carry out wounded or hurt ponies that got attacked by the flames or the beast itself, trying to get them to safety so there would be less risks for the general population.
Even after Orange's words, a few guards still remained rather close to her, circling above her in the air to dive down and get her out at a moments notice. None of them was foolish enough to try and take her while she was still clearly trying to help but as soon as needed, they would grab her and pull her away from the chaos to a safe place.
A guard trotted up to Himmel and Van, a somewhat rough looking earth pony and looked over them for a split second before speaking up in a roaring voice, pointing away from the palace and the flames around them "Civilians should leave and clear the area as soon as possible. We have to do our job here and we dont want you hurt or in the way. Flee the city and come back once this situation is dealt with."

Orange casts a glare to the guards still endangering the lives of the civilians by trying to return her to the queen. She hissed at them for a moment and casted her glance to the palace and its gates. The dragon had moved over there. It had taken the mare some considerable time to recover the magic she used to transmute a building to save it from an immanent explosion. She was no longer in any shape to fight that beast head on, instead she'd sit by an watch what was happening. She might not be bale to fight, but she could help prevent the major damages. Orange smirked and called to the watching guards.
"Hey bucket heads, I told you once don't pay any attention to me. Though the pegasi amongst you should grab a few clouds and make it rain over the fires immediately! You aren't useless with out magic! The earth ponies among you can try to escort the civilians out. Now go!"

Everything was going well so far. With the dragon up near the palace, the guards in the city could focus on rescuing civilias while the palace guard fought the beast. He believed the current queen to be a competent fighter, considering she fought Celestia herself and won in the past and fought in the war. But he willed himself to stop thinking there, lest he distract himself from the task at hand with memories of his dead family and the honour he was tenuously holding onto. Perhaps the correct way of things was not to hold onto his honor but rather to do what is necessary to survive. Indeed, honour was only holding him back. Or rather, the old code of honour he held. Perhaps it was time to update what honour meant to him, adapt with the times or be left to wallow in misery and wish for happier times. "It won't be easy, but better that than be ruled by the past. Better to live in the present and guide the future. Perhaps I have a different idea for my plan..." He thought, creating yet more Snapfreeze rocks for himself and the guards. His emotions were becoming easier to manage as they worked. Perhaps he should consider an official position somewhere. However that could wait until the job was done. First these civilians needed help.
"How many left?" He called to the guards rescuing civilians before heading over to join them. "Is there any assistance I can offer, sir?"

Vaan looked at the Earth pony in the eyes, not backing down. He had been around some rough characters before. Half of them beat him senseless. The other half were rewarded with talons to the jaw. And all the time he barely managed to escape with his life. Though, Vaan felt this soldier didn't mean any disrespect. He was simply doing his job, which his appearance had to help with. Fortunately, the rogue wouldn't let this soldier push him away so easily.
"Look, I...we aren't damn civilians. I was given a job to protect this kid directly from Chrysi herself, and this CHILD has done more to fight the dragon than all of you put together, so we will not be going anywhere till the problem is over!" Vaan spoke, looking the soldier directly in his eyes. He tasted noticeable amounts of blood in his mouth as he spoke, " Besides, seems to me y'all need all the help you can get."
Wanting to emphasize his point to the stallion before him, Vaan spotted two oblivious guards using some of the enchanted stones from earlier; this gave him an idea. Using his sleight of hand skills, he quickly removed a few enchanted rocks from the unknowing guards. After rolling them in his claws and seeing other guards carefully put them into action, the griffin threw one into flames that were a safe distance away; the pain his back disrupted his aim, but the stone still hit its mark. Upon making contact, the area froze immediately, putting the fire out and leaving behind ice as evidence of what once was.
With his action done, Vaan returned to looking at the stallion and spoke, "Are you going to willingly let us help or not?"

Orange hissed at the pony she had been previously ignoring, within moments turning into her true halfing forum. She stared him down with a look of anger in her eyes. She did not like ponies almost as much as they didn't like her. For one to consider touching and follow through with it was enraging.
"Do you not know who I am?! I am the Princess Orange Glow, first and only daughter of the Queen herself. Think twice before issuing me command or even laying a hoof on me, or you'll soon find it severed from your whole. I am trying to do my job to protect this city and all that in habit it." Her glare only turning angrier, the glow of her eyes going from a soft glow to a bright blinding light. Anypony who didn't know so before would now certainly know exactly who she was.

If what you say is true and you are the Queens Daughter, then you should know of the battle where I saved your Mother and the fact that I am one of her Generals! Due to the fact Claytons body was scared from battles past he had no fear of Orange's threats towards him. Another scar is just another memory to him. "But we have been bickering when we should be helping the civilians, Changelings and Ponies.

Pushing through the remaining crowd of calmer civilians exiting towards the rehabilitation center, lightened blue orbs shift to Noble's position. Finally getting the chaos situated for the time being, the changeling sighed in relief. Exhausted, he simply shook his head. "I believe you all have done enough for Equestria. It seems ponies are safe once again for now. I do think we are missing a few stragglers however. If you are skilled in medical, our center could use some love."
As if doing a head count of both the helpers and the civilians left, widened eyes panic as they lay on Orange Glow's eyes. Turning to Max, the bugged creature hissed lightly. Of all ponies to lead them, the Queen chose him? "SIR. The prisoner has escaped! It seems miss Orange Glow here cannot handle a simple instruction!"
Biting his lip and needing to decide on what he chose to do, the soldier's stress was obvious. If he chose to leave and track her down, the Queen and the public may still be in danger. If he stayed and Chrysalis found out she was gone, he would most likely be dead. Choosing the public for now, perhaps a small search team without him could be in order.
Watching his fellow officer try and scramble a plan, the other changelings had been doing wonderfully with the ice spells given. Nearly erasing the wild flames from existence, teamwork was a powerful thing. Hearing Vaan out, the creature simply nodded, his exhaustion clear.

The colt sighed softly before looking back and towards where the dragon had left them. "If everything his is good then I'll go make sure the dragon is taken care of. A hero never leaves a job unfinished if they can help it." The colt said as he began to make his way towards canterlot castle.

Noble nodded to the changeling. "I'm not particularly skilled in healing the old fashioned way, but if you can show me how a healing spell works, I can try my hoof in replicating one." He offered, neglecting to inform the changeling pf his healing crystals, even as ideas began to form about making his crystal satchel more efficient. After all, he'd only just started trying to help Equestria. He had much grander plans than just helping out after a dragon attack. It only proved how much the nation was out of balance...

With the flames dying down and the army taking control of the remainder of the flames, Vaan calmed himself from his previous display. Once he got the nod from the changeling he went to help anywhere he could. Then he realized he still held two stones in his claws. Being careful and weary, he slid then into a pocket on his bag and went to help at the medical facility as the creature said. He had some on field training from his old smuggling days, but nothing too serious. He could help as he could, but the second he got uncomfortable, he would scram.
As he walked towards the medical center he noticed Himmel walking off towards the castle. He knew what the kid was going to do...but hearing the kid's word from a distance confirmed his thought. With a sigh, and a small amount of blood, Vaan quickly changed his pace and walked towards the colt.
"A hero's job is never finished ,huh?" Vaan asked, knowing the queen could possible end him if this pony got hurt...severely.
