Taking place on a dying Equestria as the inevitable end looms overhead. A few souls are given immortality, but they will have no memory of how or why they became these unnatural creatures. There are great mysteries surrounding their newfound powers of revival, and only by uncovering those mysteries can they find their missing lives.
The world is bleak and harsh. Great cities are no more than crumbling ruins amid overgrown forests and harsh deserts. Life struggles here and ponies are desperate to live on. This makes them dangerous to the Immortals, as they will do anything to find the secret to immortality and cheat death.
The Immortal’s shared powers:
Infinite life: The Immortals will never age past their physical age when they became immortal. They will persist and endure the march of time, until time itself ends.
Rapid Healing: The Immortals have a quick metabolism that heals injuries swiftly. However, it uses a great deal of their stamina, forcing them to search for food more often. It is also a painful process for more grievous wounds, as they can feel months of pain condensed into a few moments as they heal.
Imperfect Immortality: For all their strengths and immortality, it is imperfect. An Immortal can still be brought down and slain like a mortal can. The difference being that this is not true death. An Immortal never truly dies, as their body enters a near-death state and begins a slow process of repairing itself. Once back to full strength, the Immortal is able to resume consciousness. However, during these near-death experiences, they experience visions which are never pleasant. These visions tend to represent their actions and the psychological effects on their psyche.
The dying world is rife with conflict. From ponies despairing and going mad to feral Manticores wanting one last good fight before the end, the Immortals have many dangers to face as the world ends around them.
