Name: Titania Placenta
Nickname: Doctor Placenta, Doctor, Director
Age: 34
Gender: Female
Species: Unicorn
Place of birth: Manehatten
Occupation: Doctor at E.G.O.E.S. and director of Project Harmony
Allegiance: Chrysalis (or whoever who will fund her research)
Relationship status: Single
Mane: Black, tied up in a bun behind her head for the most time so it won’t be in the way. Her tail is similarly kept short.
Eyes: Ice blue, gleaming with cold intellect with a feeling of being analysed coming out of them.
Living Relatives: Mother and Father (fates unknown)
General description: She is in most aspect built like your ordinary unicorn, of average height and just a little thinner than most. Her coat is a pale grey, kept spot-free and clean (the same goes for her mane and tail). Other than that, she has little use of any cosmetic product, deeming them unnecessary and useless. Her posture is always a bit stiff, seeming to never truly relax.
She is almost never seen not wearing her trademark white labcoat, and a pair of small, square-ish glasses are on her muzzle whenever she has things to read.
Skills: Her most prized skill and ability is her intellect and analytical ability, it giving her unparalleled control in all matters scientific. Pair this with her knowledge of the sciences, primarily genetics, and it is not hard to see how she have risen so far in the scientific society. Her intellect and willpower also gives her an edge against most ponies on a more basic plane, as she with ease is able to see through most ponies through a use of combined knowledge over psychology and her razorsharp intellect. Any pony trying to “get to” her will also find this to be nigh impossible, her mental barriers shielding her against mental magic attacks and any attempt of intimidation, seduction or other emotional or mental approaches. No matter what happens, she will always attain her neutral and composed disposition.
She also has a nigh unstoppable drive for what she does, and the poor pony who tries to stand in the way of those usually finds themselves in a poor position. Her science and projects are her life and no one, pony or otherwise, shall stop her.
Faults: Despite her great intellect, her magical capabilities are at most mediocre for a unicorn. While she has trained well in those spells she can cast (normal telekinesis, a few light spells, etc.) it has proved impossible for her to achieve any complicated spell above the very basic ones. Her physical abilities and physique have also proven to be at normal levels for a unicorn. She will thus be able to help little in a straight up fight, her will, her intellect and the influence she commands being her primary, if only, weapons.
Her most glaring flaw however is her social abilities. She is cold, hard and has for a long time had problem empathizing with others, making her a very unsympathetic sort.
Equipment: Lab coat, reading glasses.
History: The mare that came to be named Titiania Placenta was born to a pair of very successful unicorn surgeons working at the Manehatten general hospital. While very successful, they were however arguably not the best parents, the kind that was always busy. The filly that their foal grew into did not seem to mind however. She always seemed to enjoy her solitude, instead spending all her days reading and learning new things instead, as her curiosity and desire to understand how things worked was paramount. She in turn did not have much in the way of friends, but again, she did not seem to mind. For the longest time, she was fascinated by magic, doing everything her way to learn about it and practice whatever she could. She wasn’t very good at the actual casting of magic however, something her parents told her was part of her being a foal probably. The situation was not that however, as it soon became apparent that no matter how much she trained, she never managed to learn anything but the most basic spells. Upon learning that her magical capabilities would likely never improve, she spent a whole day locked in in her room in a self-imposed exile. The next day, she emerged and request her parents to bring her books on science instead. If she couldn’t manipulate the world with magic, then she would do so with science instead.
She followed her path diligently and without fail. In the private school she got enrolled in thanks to their status and wealth, she aced all her classes (except the physical ones and gaining no friends). The bullies of the school attempted to bully her only a few times. The first time, while “successful” the filly remained indifferent, something that put them off. The seconds time was different. Nopony knows what happened, only that by the end of the day one of the bullies had a broken leg, and that none of the bullies spoke of the incident ever again, staying clear of the strange filly with the strange name for the rest of their stays at the school.
The rest of her stay was, while socially inept, uneventful, she having no trouble with her studies. After school, her course was clear. She continued to study until she had acquired several Ph.D.’s in scientific areas, mainly concerning her forte: Genetics. In truth, during all of her studies, she had not forgotten the idea she had as a child: To be able to change the world with science. And genetics had seemed to her the best way to do so. Any opposition she met was swiftly and intelligently put down and debated against, it becoming quite clear that one of this times sharpest minds was in the head of this lone mare who no one called, “friend”. Not that she seemed to mind.
Following her education, she spent a few years researching before she joined with E.G.O.E.S., seeing an opportunity to get funding to further her research goals. She quickly rose through the ranks through a combination of pure scientific capability, something she had already proven that she had, and a cold ruthlessness against her opposition (not saying she broke any legs, but it was fair to say that few could remain brave-faced against her). In the end she had become E.G.O.E.S. top geneticist and one of its top scientists overall, proving to be an excellent director in her own right.
During the war she, quite differently from most other ponies, cared little. She had no emotional bond to the princesses like many others, and mostly saw it all as a brutish affair between megalomaniac powers. As long as her research was untouched, it mattered none to her who was in power.
This especially rang true during after the wars end, when she was approached by the new regency with the request to engage in a project. She quickly saw the potential this project had in not only crowning new scientific advancements, but also her own scientific desires. This would be an excellent way for her to learn the secrets of genetics, a way to improve on ponykind as a whole, instead of just the queen’s soldiers. It had been hard for her to work on this before after all, what with ponies’ notions of moral and such. But she of course did not say this, instead remaining as icy and cold as she used to be. Scientific advancements doesn’t happen by themselves after all.
