Name: Hi!! My name is Perspective Shift!
Nickname: Most just call me Percy or Shifty
Age: 22
Gender: Male
Species: I’m a Unicorn
Place of Birth: I was born in Manehattan
Occupation: I’m a librarian. My special talent doesn’t really rake it in...
Allegiance: Very much loyal to her majesty, Queen Chrysalis
Relationship Status: Very single… unfortunately
Mane: My mane is in a sort of lazy mohawk and it’s neon green
Eyes: Ice blue!
Living Relatives: My parents live in Manehattan (don't really talk to them anymore)
General Description: I’m kinda taller than the average pony and not athletic but not out of shape either. I’m a total pacifist and avoid conflict at all cost. I’m also quite upbeat and happy go lucky. Um… Don’t know what else to tell you.
Skills: I’m good at alternative types of magic and thinking outside the box, basically using spells in ways that most don't think of, being a good friend
Faults: My faults? Well, because of my total pacifism, I'm a horrible fighter, I'm too generous for my own good (have been used in the past many times because of that)
Equipment: Um… I don't really own anything. My saddle bags for carrying my books, though they are enchanted to hold way more than they should as long as I can handle the weight.
History: Well, as I said, I was born in Manehattan. At an early age I realized that I didn't think the same way as everyone else. To everyone else, my ideas seemed to be upside down and inside out. In magic kindergarten I was a very fast learner and ended up using my magic in a rather…creative way to stop a bully from picking on another student. How? Well, let’s just say that he stopped being a bully that day when the monkey bars started chasing him around the schoolyard (total freak accident, by the way). It was this incident that prompted my parents to enroll me into Celestia’s School for Gifted Unicorns. I was accepted when I turned a potted plant into candy, pot, dirt and all, while it still retained it's shape (it was delicious by the way).
As I went through school, some of the history buffs and teachers who knew me, would sometimes call me the Discord of our time. Took me a while to find out what they meant by that, and I must admit that I was flattered! Once I finished school, I went to work at the school's library, there not being much work for my brand of magic. I tried to publish some papers about some of my theories, but they were always rebuffed as being too radical. I had come to realize that everyday magic was boring, even with my modifications.
As I was putting some books away in the biology section of the library, I came across the Changelings. The fact that they used their magic to change their entire appearance fascinated me, of course, no one knew anything besides the basics of Changeling biology. I tried to as around, but most frowned and told me to forget about it. I tried to forget about it not having any way to look into it more, but it always lingered there at the back of my mind.
Shortly after this, I found a reference to Dark Magic. My curiosity was peaked again. This time however, any materials I might have been able to peruse were kept in the restricted section of the library, well out of my reach.
It was then that the war happened and I got my first look at a Changeling. I was astounded. I stayed out of the war as best as I could, not being a fighter in any way. My parents tried to convince me that join the Princess' army, but I was having none of it, being a complete pacifist my entire life. They weren't happy about this, but there wasn't much I could do. After the war was over and we were gathered for Queen Chrysalis' speech, I stared in awe at the Queen of the Changelings. As I listened to her speech, I actually found myself loving this new world that she wanted to create. I then saw the Changelings reveal themselves around us who then bowed at the end of her speech. I joined them in the bow instantly, for I knew that under Queen Chrysalis' rule, I'd finally be able to learn about both Dark and Changeling magic. My parents were furious that I had so easily turned my back on the Princesses and moved back to Manehatten to get away from their traitorous son. I was upset that they couldn't see that what Chrysalis was trying to do, while still a little rough and a bit scary, was going to be better for everypony. They treated me like the plague right up until they left for home. I'm still hoping that I get to meet the Queen soon...
