Tunnels - Halls of the camp A system of tunnels lead into the chambers that make up the caves that the camp ponies now know as home. These halls are speckled with small fragments of mirrors that help carry sunlight back into the caves.
Often times these halls can feel private and secluded, but be wary, this is an easy illusion to believe. The sound of ponies' voices can often echo and carry through these tighter tunnels, and conversations can occasionally be overheard by others making their way through the halls.

[Enter Genesee from the Medical Grotto]
Genesee slowly trotted out of the medical grotto and into the hall, slowly skimming through his book. He read over their newest members they had brought in over the past few weeks, checking to make sure he hadnt missed anything or had learned anything new about them. He was surprised at the count. It seemed they were taking in more and more ponies each month. Yet, none of the ponies coming in had reported anything out of the ordinary happening with the new rulers in Equestria. So what had changed?
The camp leader pondered things as he slowly made his way towards the commons.

[Enter Flux]
A soft beat of hooves could be heard growing louder behind him from the direction of the medical area. Flux had no intention of sneaking up on the stallion, but his habit of doing things quietly was hard to shake. When he was only a short distance behind the earth pony he spoke up, letting his pace slow.
"Genesee! I was hoping for a word, if you could spare a minute or two. If not I can come find you later, though."

Genesee paused, looking up from his book and back to where Flux was trotting after him. "Flux. Of course. Trot with me." He nodded in the direction he was going and started trotting at a slow pace for him to catch up. "What can I do for you?"

"Sir. I, uh, wasn-" Flux cut himself off before he could stammer his thoughts into oblivion, taking a breath to force his words back under control as he trotted beside the elder. "Apologies. It's been an interesting day. I wanted to ask you about our resources here. I thought I could search for myself but didn't want to make an image of secrecy about it lest I cause any issues from it."
The pegasus knew that he had to be careful in what he asked, but he had no intention of disrespecting Genesee while doing so. "I've seen signs of camps, small traveling squads by the Queen while we've been out on scouting patrols. The war ended years ago but we've still seen signs of her forces, no doubt searching for lingering camps such as ours. I know that I've not been a resident here nearly as long as others, but I worry that as we grow we will undoubtedly attract the Queen's attentions. Are we prepared to react accordingly if we should be found?"

Genesee had at first walked with Flux still looking in his book, but as Flux went on he closed it and turned fully to look at him, stopping his steady trot so that they were stopped together in the middle of the tunnel. His face held a hint of surprise and his brows furrowed. The young stallion spoke rather out of rank about such a heavy topic and had caught him off guard. He was more used to only discussing these things with his most senior and trusted members. But any camper was allowed to ask questions, and he tried to navigate through his immediate responses of it being confidential to try to give Flux something more substantial. "Well... you are of course not the first to have concern about such matters. The chance of our discovery plagues my mind every day and night, and I can assure you, i fully intend to do and have done everything I can to keep our camp from coming to harm." He met Flux's gaze with a pointed stare, "You trust that, right?"

"Of course I do," Flux replied, not missing a beat as he matched the leader's gaze as they stood. "You've earned more trust with that more than I've trusted anyone in a long time, which is a good part of the reason why I stayed here. And again, I thank you greatly. It's not my intent to come off as disrespectful or ungrateful for all you've done for me. It's just only six months ago, I was out there, I saw and I know how things have gotten, especially in terms of the forces of those who would see this place destroyed. I might even have a better understanding of it than you do, and even though it's been years since the "trials"," he said, making air quotes in reference to the Queen's decision to remove those who would not bow to her, "the hunt is still on. They'll run out of places close to the city to search soon enough, and once they stray far enough..." He didn't have to finish the sentence for its meaning to get across.
"I just want to know what we have here at our disposal to deal with that when it happens. Sure, there's some combat training happening, but most of these ponies aren't fighters, you and I both know that. I understand if I haven't been here long enough to warrant as much trust as others, but the threat is to us all." He paused for a moment and sighed; it wasn't his job to worry about this, but he couldn't keep the thoughts away. "Someone told me once that war is hell. I disagree. In hell, innocent ponies don't die. They could here if the worst happens."

"Trust me Flux, I am well aware of the new regime's urgency to locate places like this. This is why our top priority has always been our secrecy." Genesee began to trot again, now directing them in a different general direction. Flux hadn't been a camper long, but he had proved his discretion to sensitive information enough for the leader to make an internal decision. "We've taken painstaking measures to develop cloaking spells, shields, and mirage spells that will keep our presence undetected from any city nearby. But we didn't just stop there. Follow me. What I show you stays between us and goes no further, do you understand?" He glanced back with a serious gleam in his eyes. He didn't take potential betrayal lightly.

His heart jumped at the sudden turn of events and he glanced around them, suddenly on edge at being caught alone with the old stallion. He certainly trusted the weathered pony, enough that he didn't consider his well-being at risk by living in his organization, but he also knew that age and experience left anyone with their share of secrets and tricks up their sleeves. If a pony as clever as Genesee wasn't spry enough to run around in a dangerous world it was guaranteed that they had systems in place that would still allow their schemes to be carried out.
The pegasus swallowed uncertainly before he padded after his senior. "Absolutely," he answered to the question, looking Genesee in the eye as he gave his word and followed to whatever destination was in mind for them, or whatever plan.

Walking briskly down the tunnels and looking around down other halls as they went to make sure they were alone, Genesee made his way towards the more militant area of the camp towards the barracks. "I want you to know that I have firm beliefs about weapons and their uses, but I also believe in protection from those who have weapons with weapons of our own. I wouldn't leave us empty hooved if it came to a fight... and what I'm about to show you will be good to get your opinion on if it will be enough from what you have seen in your travels that our enemies might possess themselves..." Taking a turn away from the barracks, it would seem the old stallion was leading Flux to the farthest chamber they had excavated and wasn't used by campers unless given permission to enter. The armory.

[Enter Aegis Dare from Barracks and Training Hollow]
"Seriously, Moxie. You don't have to use medical supplies on me if I wake up within three days. I've been through worse, trust me." He said, flashing her a wide confident grin. He appreciated her concern, even if it was unnecessary in his mind. He'd recovered from severe physical exhaustion without medical attention before. But maybe he shouldn't push himself quite so hard. Not with so many ponies who still needed teaching. Not only how to fight, but when.
His smile softened as they went on. "Maybe I should stop trying to be such a gloryhound, though."

Forte remained silent as they entered the halls of the camp. The sounds grew louder and clearer. Forte was always amazed at how well sound traveled through the tunnels here. This time, though, they weren't the smooth tones of his trombone. They were obviously the sound of a fight. "Somethings going down, and it's not a food fight." He said sternly.

Moxie couldn't help but agree with Forte's observation. Yelling echoed through the tunnels, getting louder as they quickly made their way towards its source. Two ponies emerged down the hall at the split towards the Gathering Nook and Commons area and came running out, a wild and scared look in their eyes as they bolted away down another tunnel system and disappeared from view.
"It's coming from the Commons, quick!" With a flick of her tail, she set off at a full out run down the hall, skidding to a quick stop at the split and lept into the Commons area, hopeful her friends were behind her.

Forte paused a moment as he skidded to a stop in front of the Commons area. The all too familiar sound of fighting resonated from inside the chamber. This wasn't good. The pegasus kicked off, hovering above the ground and drawing Tempest Gale, his personal crossbow, from his holster. He checked the load, making sure it was one of the enchanted bolts designed to incapacitate rather than kill. Nodding, sure he was ready, he dashed into the room.

[Enter Tara from Keepsake-Cavern]
After having left Moonlight, Trixie and Pumpkin behind wordlessly, the earth pony had started to wander around the many tunnels and halls on his own, having lost his sense of direction after a few minutes already. Saying he was lost, would have been too nice. Tarascha was completely on his own, somewhere in the tunnels and it slowly got to him. What if he entered a maze and would never get out of the Camp again? Maybe he strolled into some abandoned tunnels and nopony would be around to ever find him again. No, that certainly could not happen! He still had work to do and places to see!
And of course he did not trust the camp ponies to know how to handle his arsenal of weapons they took off of him. Especially the poison on the knives. Forbid if anything happened to them. He was thinking of the knifes of course, not the ponies. As long as it wasn't Moonlight that was. That unicorn was one of the last "friends" he had. Perhaps they did not each other that well but it was certainly well enough that Tara trusted Moon at least a little.
After some more wandering around, he let out an annoyed groan and his muzzle scrunched up out of reflex. Somepony had to know where he could find either the leader of the Camp or that Flux pony. He needed to get his weapons back and leave. Impressive as the camp was, it was still not enough to convince Tara to settle down. The road was calling and everthing in these halls was too narrow and small for the earth ponies liking.
