General Description: Steel Soul is an Earth Pony. His fur is brown, bordering on the line of near red to some, while his mane is a dark shade of milk chocolate. He is rather slender for an earth pony, his body nearing that of a slightly bulky mare more than anything.
Steel tends to act ignorant of the happenings of the world, wanting nothing to do with with the war that was raging around his ears. Though while he could care less about the war itself, he was never one to ignore a cry for help, whether it be changeling, pony or whoever else. If he feels that what he sees isn’t right, then he will step in, no matter the danger.
Steel, despite his misgivings about the war, has a strong sense of justice and is, all around, a kind soul. Not one to cheat or steal, he always tries to find a peaceful solution to a problem if he can. If not, then the gloves are off and his blade is unsheathed.
Skills: Steel hates to brag but he is quite the cook. His dishes always leave ponies wanting more. Aside from that, he is quite the fighter, using his more slender frame to move quickly throughout a fight. His speed is perfect for fighting against opponents of the magic variety.
Faults: Steel is bad at keeping his nose out of other pony’s business. If he feels that something is wrong, he isn’t shy about speaking up about it. He also has a bit of a hero complex, wanting to do what he feels is right, even if others disagree. Despite his need to fight for justice, however, he does have a more primal urge to fight against strong opponents, an inner need to test how far he’s come when put against somepony or something clearly well over his skill level.
Equipment: Though he isn’t one to care too much about clothing, he does own a well worn traveling cloak, as well as some light armor he has procured during his travelings in his younger years. He wears around his neck a magic like pendent that seems to draw in low level magic aimed at him. As such, skill like telekinesis and elemental attacks from anything less then a pony like King Sombra would have less of an effect to him then it does to other earth ponies, though that does not stop physical attacks. Though such a thing is a double edged sword due to healing magic also being affected, causing his injuries to heal at a much reduced speed. The pendent itself can be token off if he allows it to, otherwise, the only other way for him to part with it would be though death.
Speaking of swords, his weapon of choice is a long, curved blade, the body of it long and thin, even as it reached the tip.It would end in a pommel that was thin and well worn. The sheath and the pommel of the blade are tied to each other, not making room for the blade to slip from the sheath whatsoever. Despite its normal appearance, the blade is, in fact, enchanted with magic nulling material. It was a blade made by his late father, one the old regime’s retired guards ponies. The blade has a limited use however, 6 runes that recharge every 12 hours it stays out of use is the limit for anything that his not god level, otherwise it will sacrafice itself in a last ditch effort to protect its wielder.
History: Steel was raised in a small assortment of a town that nearly bordered the edge of the badlands. His mother, a unicorn farm mare, raised him within the little tight knit community of ponies and other assortment of species. From changelings who escaped banishment, to diamond dogs looking for a place to call their home, Steel grew up within, while dangerous in many aspects, a friendly environment.
Within his little stretch of land he called home, the growing colt named Steel Soul would live as normal a life as could be expected with one that lived life near the Badlands. From helping his mother in the fields to training with the the many creatures that lived within the community, Steel Soul never asked for more or less when it came to life’s pleasures.
His cutie mark was gained when he was still a young teen of a stallion, displaying his fortitude in both courage and skill as he he fought tooth and hoof against a raid against his village.
Years past and time moves on for the colt, now becoming a full fledged young stallion. Though as Steel would grow bigger and stronger, his mother would grow tired and weaker. Some had told him that it was an old unicorn weakness she had picked up a long time ago. Though he could see the signs when he was younger, it didn’t hurt any less when saw the sick old mare-wife on her deathbed. On her final days, she told Steel about his father, how he had been one of the ponies serving under Princess Celestia. How they had met and how he had died fighting for the Princess of Equestria.
In a final will and testament from his father, he was presented with the blade his dad had forged himself, a weapon made with a magic nulling material that had come from the heavens themselves. Added to that was her own gift to him; a jeweled stone that had been passed down from her own family for generations.
Within the next few years, the stallion would live a rather peaceful life. Even meeting a mare to call his own. Soon enough, his daughter would be born and the three would live their little life as normally as they could.
And then the war broke out within Equestria...
Against his better judgements, the stallion allowed his wife to join the faction she was so passionate about, leaving him alone to care for their only daughter. It had been almost five years since then with nary a word of the fate of his beloved mare. Without a word, the stallion, with daughter in tow, would make his way to Equestria, unprepared for what might lay in wait for both he and his daughter.
