This floor is only open to staff of E.G.O.E.S.. All of the research and experimentation for Project Theta, short for Project Theta Shock Crystal Testing, based around the Theta crystal. The crystal is known to release energy in the form of electricity when struck with something like a hammer. The project is headed by Onyx Mind, as he was the one to find this phenomenon first.

Onyx glanced around his lab. "Where did I leave it?!?!" He yelled.
His personal assistant, Ruby Pendant, answered back, "I really don't see how you could lose something as large as that."
Onyx whipped his head around in frustration, meeting Ruby's eyes before saying, "Listen. You stay here, and see if you can't find it. I need that crystal to finish this experiment. I'm going to go into my office, and decide what to do if we can't find it. Got it?"
Ruby just simply nodded as Onyx walked angrily to his office, slamming the door behind him.

Only a few moments after Onyx would have entered his office, a new pony would enter the lab. The pony, a unicorn stallion at that who was wearing a lab-coat bearing the insignia of E.G.O.E.S., had a look of slight disinterest on his face and his desire to be anywhere but here was quite evident in how he looked and moved about the lab. Upon spotting the assistant he quickly approached her.
"Where is Onyx Mind?" He quickly asks (or maybe it was more akin to demanding) the mare, looking about the lab, unimpressed. "I need to speak with him."

"Oooh! He's just in his office. I could go get him if you'd like!" Ruby responded after an initial moment of pause. A mere couple seconds went by before Onyx opened his office door again. Without stepping completely out, he responded, "No need. I'm right here." He looked at the unicorn. "What do you need?" He asked, rather impatiently.

The unicorn turned to the office door as soon as it was opened, sizing the pony standing in the doorway up. He clearly wasn't too impressed at what he saw, if the look in his eyes would be trusted.
"Ah, there you are mister... Mind. While I understand that your little... project here must take up a lot of your time, I need to ask you to come with me. Dr Placenta wants to have a word at you and you would be wise not to keep her waiting." He says, some disdain in his voice and rather quick to get to the point.

Onyx nodded, and looked at Ruby. "Clean up while I'm gone. Find that crystal too." Onyx nodded at the unicorn, and then asked, "Any idea what Dr. Placenta wants from me?"

Seeing that Onyx would follow him, the stallion was quick to turn around and start trotting towards the exit of the lab, keeping his gaze pointed forward as he spoke in reply.
"Well, obviously she's looking to incorporate your... work into her Project. Though I fail to see why we would have any use of it, I'd say it's rather obvious that we should push more for the psychological approach..." He says with a huff, him rather obviously a bit upset over the matter, as he led Onyx to the exit and in extension, towards the lower floors of the E.G.O.E.S facility.

Onyx walked back into the lab, greeted with the crystal he had lost and a small note from Ruby. The not read: "I found the crystal. Going to lunch now." Onyx chuckled as he read it. He sat down and got back to his research.

Suddenly, there was a sharp knock on the door to the lab, followed shortly by the entrance of a young-looking earth pony mare, a cheery smile on her face as she looked about the lab. "Ah! Mister Mind I take it?" She asked, quickly trotting over to the pegasus, continuing to sport her cheery demeanour.

Onyx hadn't enough time to answer the knock before the mare entered. He nodded in response to her question. "Yes, I am Mister Mind. Why?" He said, slightly confused, having not expected a visitor

She continued to smile and bowed her head a little in the direction of the pegasus. "Excellent! I was hoping you'd be in your lab. My name is Kaleidoscope, but you can call me Kally! I've been assigned as your contact for your move to Project Harmony, to make sure everything goes smoothly. If you have any questions or requests or whatsoever, then I'm your mare!" She says, finishing of with a short giggle, looking at the stallion with an expectant look on her face.

Onyx blinked. "Alright. Hmm.." He thought for a few moments. "Am I able to continue my own research in this lab, right here? I would prefer if I were able to do so." He spoke in an unchanged, almost monotone voice

The mare, never missing a beat, grinned with enthusiasm, or that was what it looked like at least, and nodded. "Why of course mister Mind! But, as it reads in your contract, any work that is directly involved project Harmony must be conducted at our plane." She said cheerily and giggled a little.
"A matter of secrecy you see. But! No worries, if you just want to work on your own project, that can be conducted here."

He took a moment to glance around his lab, making sure nothing was out of place. It was an odd habit he had developed, but the number of times it had helped him was uncountable. He looked back at the mare in front of him and gave a small smile, barely changing from his blank expression.

The mare took a moment to observe the lab as well before she again beamed at the pony, taking a step forward, her enthusiasm seeming to be hindered none. "Well, but surely you must something else? Any special equipment for your new lab? We can get you anything you want you know! Ah, and have you considered your new assistant? We have a few down at the project, and if you have any special preferences, then you need only say the word! Ah, and we must make sure you are to become familiar with the new equipment as well! There are, as you should have guessed, some aspects of the research down there that is quite different from your previous work, so we need to make sure you know how to handle your new tools!" She said in a quick stream, seeming to be filled with suggestions like these.
She also, even if she gave no signs to show it, a little disappointed that this one seemed to be another still-faced scientist. There was enough of them down at the project already, at least if one would ask her.

He gave a small sigh before speaking. "Surely, if they have done any reading on Project Theta, they would know I only need two pieces of equipment to work. If needed, I have spares here that I can bring down there. And as for the learning thing. There's no need to worry at all, I'm a fast learner." He said, giving a small smirk at the end. He adjusted his mane slightly and awaited her response
