Beautiful redstone builds out the western slopes of the mountain side. Too high of an altitude for trees to grow, the red rocks are a mostly barren area with only bushes and shallow caves to offer cover. Jagged and sudden drops have been worn away from the rock leaving steep cliff sides and risks of unforgiving falls for ponies.
Even with the dangers of being exposed and the risks of toppling over the cliff edges, this area offer spectacular sights, a spiritual escape, and precious resources for the refugees of Camp New Hayven.
Unique Area resources:
Natural Red Clay - Used for pottery for bowls, pots, and various containers and tools
Butterfly weed bark - can be processed into twine, an essential asset for daily life and construction.
Butterfly weed leaves - can be dried and made into a medicinal paste for treating diarrhea, nausea in pregnancy, altitude sickness for new refugees and can help cure dysentery
Chickweed - Food, contains a high amount of vitamins and offers key nutrients missing in a refugee's available diet.

Trixie was at a very hazardous place she knew a simple misstep could cost her her life. Though what was following her made this risk well worth it in her opinion. She took in her surroundings the best she could and looked for a place to lay low or set up some kind of diversion/trap. She began looking for a big rock to hide behind or some kind of cave. These would probably be her best options at a time like this.
"I don't care what happens to me.. I will get back to my precious Moon." She said to herself quietly as if to reassure herself.

Pouncing from hardened rock to the clawed deep gravel laying firmly below the dry and barren landscape, a darkened tan coated saber tooth tiger had been chasing the unicorn mare for miles. Hunger driven and beyond settling, the principle of the hunt had the blood thirsty feline out for a meal he wouldn't forget. With long and sharped curved claws digging into the cliff sides to avoid sudden death, the hunter smelled out its prey instinctively.
"Come here pretty pony. I only want a taste."
Leaping into action at the last tail end of what he thought was her, the saber found himself standing in front of a cave. Narrowed eyes questioned where this unicorn could have gone as four paws begun to make the journey forward. Sniffing around and emitting a low growl, the time for messing around was far and gone. Catching a scent and cocking his head to the giant rock just barely attached to the base of the cliff, the tan and white under coated creature lunged for the kill as he slipped to the back of it.
"Your mine!"
(Since sabers in a chimera can talk, I would only assume a normal one could. Correct if I am out of line ^^)

As the Saber pounced on the pony he would find that it was naught but a mere illusion created by Trixie. Though she had rubbed up against the rock to leave her scent there. Unfortunately for the Saber Trixie had set a simple trap up ahead of time. As the illusion was pounced a group of rocks began to fall from the ceiling presumably on top of the Saber.
Though this did not stop Trixie from continuing ahead in the cave marking her path with a type of magic that would conceal it to anyone else but her so she could later find her way out. She proceeded cautiously and kept looking for anything she could use to fend her off.

Hissing and attsmpting to bite into..nothing? Blatant burning yellow orbs shift from side to side at the fake pony now gone like the wind. With the rumbling sound of rocks now sliding his way, the saber had little to no time avoiding such a blasted trickery fate. Getting hit and rolling down the cliff in a screawalls co echoing voice, it seemed the cries were not all in vein.
Clawing up the cliff in a vengeful fashion, the sabers left over pack had begun to hunt for the pony murderer together. With the leader turning the corner and hissing at the lack of a body, her nose had sent her and her other two members into the scent marked cave ahead. Quiet and stealthy, esrs twitched at the walls for signs of life up ahead. Successfully hearing hoof steps not far in front, the tiger and pack had booked it together towards the mare as sharpened outter teeth craved the victory of defeat.

Trixie's ears perked up as she heard footfalls coming in her direction. She quickly determined it had to be at least a small pack. She quietly cursed her self and picked up a little speed before she turned around and put up a strong magical barrier right before her. The barrier was a reactive one, so if it were to be hit or clawed it would sending what ever hit it flying. She decided to stay on the other side to see how many were chasing her.

Tracking down the mare by force, the three felines charged in unison through the tight caves. Hopefully leading them to their target, the leader had branched off as the other two found themselves falling for her trap. Ramming directly into the magical complicated barrier, the two sabers had been blasted away.
The third however had been thoroughly planning as it managed to claw itself a small hole, making a small entrance for her to slide through unnoticed. Expecting her pack to be on the other side, the clan normally made its kill from this perspective. Seperating and surrounding by trickery, the sabers eyes were not met with her own. Instead, her golden yellow orbs met with the face of the pony they were looking for. Growing and stepping closer now on the other side of the barrier and luring the unicorn against it, the feline spoke in hunger, eyes scanning the neck area for an opening.
"You're more trouble then your worth. Lets hope you taste better. Any last words?"

Trixie smirked as she looked at her opponent, and she charges her horn casting a spell. "Sure, anti-gravity, ever heard of it?"
She cast the spell, followed by another one. She fled deeper into the cave, if the saber were to pounce after her it would be stuck in an anti-gravity field where it would be stuck floating instead.

Lunging forward and getting caught in the anti-gravity spell, snarls and hissing could be heard for miles as its body hung upside down. useless and floating, the feline was helplessly at the ceiling. Eventually giving up fighting due to its issue from above, the saber tooth tiger seemed to no longer be a threat as it sighed in a groaning manner.
"One day.. magic wont save you forever."

Once Trixie had got a good distance away Trixie laid a few magical traps just in case and dropped the anti-gravity returning it to normal, though she didn't just drop them she put them back down slowly.

Finally being put down and rolling onto her paws, golden eyes dart from side to side. Inspecting the area and questioning why she was still alive and not skinned for her fur, the feline growled lightly. Walking slowly away, the tan coated Saber had mentally struggled with what it wanted to do next. Between hunting down the unicorn mare that humiliated her and walking away to check on her pack, the feline begun to walk away in grumbles.

Trixie made her way deep down the cave, it twisted and turn. Somewhere down the line she though she saw light refracting off the walls of the cave and decided to head for it. Outside is better than this place that was for certain. Though she'd have to watch herself even more. Which she was prepared to do. She stepped out side covering her eyes with her hoof, the time in the cave didn't do her eyes any good.

Finally making up her mind, the Saber tooth tiger had begun to make the fast and rapid journey towards the direction of the pony. With her stomach fuming with hunger and rage, the grudge holding beast could not tolerate being made a fool of. Planning out thorough ways to avoid this magic the mare had done so before, claws ripped into the hesvy stone of the cliffs as the felines speed picked up through the wind. Oh how she could taste the very juicy flesh of the mare after such a victory awaiting, the thought alone allowing her to drool in anticipation.

[Enter Pumpkin Vine]
Gracefully landing over the redstone cliffs, the light colored mare seemed to blend in almost pleasingly to the rough stones below. Tucking herself against a bush however and knowing the dragon could find her, high stake outs were some of her more approved ideas around. With her belly to the ground and warrior senses thriving, this barren altitude was perfect for some much needed alone time with her old associate and now friend.
Smirking to herself, it was almost hard to believe that her personality could change so much from before. When she first came to this camp, the likelihood of her getting along with anyone other then mare's was very rare. But thanks to their leader and his own wise words and input, she soon found herself coping with what she was given. Giving other creatures a chance may not have been her strong suit, but it was made clear that the lone warrior was trying. Speaking out loud more to herself, she found the time along the sky light to be almost peaceful.
"While I'm here, I must remind myself to collect some chickweed for my class. Forte Fermata sure had a lot of classes lined up, perhaps he requires my assistance when I return. Where is that dragon?"

The red stone cliffs were peaceful, a steady wind whistling through the creases and crevices that had been carved out through the years by the very ageless wind that snaked through them today. It had formed a landscape that was almost not of this world, a beautiful sight to behold in the late afternoon light. The heavy shadows cast by the slowly descending sun were numerous and still, that is, until a movement from within one dark corner in the rock face marked the arrival of a camp guard.
The guard earth pony mare looked ragged, beaten and bruised, panting hard as she climbed the steep path through the cliffs from camp. She was set on finding help, knowing a patrol had gone this way earlier. But even though she didnt see the patrol of pegasi she had expected and Pumpkin instead, her eyes lit up with hope as she gasped out to the fabled combat instructor, "Pumpkin Vine! Please! The camp - we're being attacked from within - Please, we need your help quick!"

As time passed on for the female warrior with nothing more then to watch for the signs, Pumpkin Vine's day was turning out to be incredibly dull. Huffing to herself, the absence of such dragon had indicated a blowing off as the younger generation so generously called it. "It appears my presence bores these uncultured individuals with rude accents." Catching a change in the breeze pattern, burnt orange eyes widened in distress. Standing up only to see one of their own heading out this way, the instructor had begun to read her body language far before she reached her position.
"Excuse me?!" Was it a trap all along? Grinding her teeth and preparing herself mentally for war, Pumpkin Vine nodded almost immediately. "Then we have no time to lose! Blast! Thank you!" Galloping towards the entrance of the cave whether the mare decided on following or not, Pumpkin was in no mood for polite conversation at this time. Instead, her body pushed against the ground with equal force, her momentum carrying her far further then any stallion could do. Opening up her wings to drive her speed further, she remained low, unwilling to give away their location to any unwanted lawmakers passing through.
