Dry, hot and craggy and with few natural resources, this is where tribes of creatures used to share the land, making peace before the war. Now nothing more then a hot commute to the wall, it almost doesn't seem worth it.

A-Dust cloud was encircling Max he was surely still lost but had no idea where he was or how far he has traveled since the storm kicked up. Max would have his right hoof covering his eyes as he walked; the last thing he needed was sand in the eyes.
That's when it happened, the flashbacks started to come back as his eyes were shielded. Max saw the deaths of those he couldn't protect, the cries, the screams and the endless torment that now clouded his judgment. When suddenly he felt weightless and started to fall. He unshielded his eyes to discover he was, in fact, falling down the side of a 15-foot cliff.
He tumbled end over end down the hill losing his tent as it got snagged on a protruding rock. The force of the snag was strong enough to empty only the image of his family and the knife that has helped him so far on his journey.
The knife fell and landed beside him as he thudded into the dirt; kicking up some dust into the air. The picture, on the other hand, floated gently down to earth and got snagged in a nearby bush.
Max would groan as he rolled over onto his back looking up into the clear non-dust filled sky. He let out a sigh as he was happy to still be alive, but was slowly hoping he'd been dead. He slowly started to stand up on his own and knelt down to retrieve his knife.

Flying down from the sky like a lightning bolt, a brightly yellow colored mare had landed close to the dust twisters destination. Immediately taking action, the pegasus galloped to the stallion left stranded. Short in her structure, the pony had been wearing some sort of one piece outfit, her mane a pretty blue, striped by a lighter tone as its short locks kept from falling through to her line of sight. Smiling and approaching him slowly, her voice was a bit deeper then the average however genuine just the same.
"I saw that dust storm a mile away. You okay?"

Max didn't answer; it seemed like he didn't even notice she was there at all, he went over to the image that was stuck in the bush and retrieved it and kept looking at it and only it. Mathews mind flashing with memories of the two ponies in the photo, then the flashes of not so happy thoughts that would have come to those ponies. His eyes were shut his body shaking. He couldn't seem to fight the memories off his mind. Soon enough their voices could be heard in his own head begging for help, why he wasn't there, and that it was all his fault. Max's breathing soon turned to a hard rasping for air as the images in his head soon turned into a nightmare. It was clear there was something wrong.

Watching the stallion with a concerned expression, Static Wing had been about to speak up once more. Noting his breathing pattern, the mare had frantically scrambled through her saddle bags for a bottle of water. Finding it and rushing to his aid, a splash of cold liquid was poured over the dark and dirty toned pony before her. Placing a hoof to his shoulder, the brightly colored mare tried her best to shake him awake. Hoping her voice and touch could help the poor stallion out, her worry had only grown.
"Snap out of it!"

Max felt the water poured down on him running down his body which caused him to snap out of his panic attack. As soon as the pony touched him and started shaking his body is when he pushed her away and stood ready to punch her. Still not breathing a word to her, he was panting and shivering a little from the cold water that dripped from his fur. The picture fell from his grasp from the sudden movement and drifted down into the wet mud beneath him.
"No!"
Mathew scrambled down to clean the mud off and try and un-soak the water by rubbing it on his fur repeatedly while also maintaining eye contact with the mare that he didn't know or recognize.

Backing up to the shove given, Static Wing had drooped her hears with an apologetic expression. Watching the stallion scream and attempt to get mud out of the picture, the pegasus had reached in her bag. Pulling out a cloth and hoping it would help, her eyes were sincere as she spoke, pushing the cloth his way. From the amount of dirt on his body to the stern expression from his eyes, Static hoped he going to be okay. While not everypony can handle weather conditions, he did seem to be in shape for a pony in this time era. With that idea causing her to think, she hoped to hear more from him.
"Please, I'm sorry. I thought you were having a panic attack. I was only trying to help..."

Mathew gave her a look as he looked to the cloth that was presented by the Pegasus. He would repeatedly look at the cloth and her. "No." Max said sternly and pushed her extended hoof away from him. He finished cleaning the image and stuffed it into his rags pocket, which was clearly clinging together by hardly any thread. Max didn't seem bothered by the mare being there or the fact that his body had mud on it. "Now, Go away"

Not taking his words to heart, the mare had tried to reason with the stallion the best she could. That was, if she could get him to say more then two words. Opening up her wings and cocking her head to the side, the fast flyer had pushed the dirt around with her hoof for a moments passing. Saddened by his dilemma, ideas and scenarios swirled through Static Wing's mindset as she thought. Memory loss? Brain tumor? Traumatic stress?
"I can help bring you to your home? Do. You. Understand?"
(I apologize!)

( For what I am not complaining)
Max stood down a little seeing this pony was no true threat to him. Mathew gave her a look like she was crazy when she asked if he understood her; he sternly and strongly said: "I do not need your help." Just as Max said that he would look up to see his tent bag still strung up on a protruding stick. He began trying to climb up the side of the cliff only to slide back down kicking up the loose earth. He was letting out slight grunts each time he would slide down the side. Eventually, Mathew would get a foothold on the cliff and made his way up slowly, but was still a bit away from obtaining his bag.

"If you say so."
Growing a tad stubborn to his own ways, the mare frowned in defeat. Starting to flap her wings and hovering away, Static Wing couldnt help herself as her focus glanced back. Watching him suffer trying to climb the cliff, the suited pegasus flew above him with a new sense of purpose, she was going to smack some sense into him if it killed her.
"You're too stubborn. I can eassily get your items, why are you being so irrational? It's okay to ask for help, its okay to be dependent for once."

Mathew got startled as he looked up to see the hovering pegasus above him. Max then started having tiny flashes of his child where the flying pony was telling him; he is stubborn, that he was the reason the horrors were caused by him, how he wasn't there to protect them. Which gave him a scare and caused him to fall back down the side of the cliff rolling end over end, letting out grunts then landing the back of his head onto a stone, which caused him to go unconscious where his nightmares would fill his head with more fear.

"No!" Flapping her wings within seconds, Static Wing tilted her feathers as she sped downwards. Attempting to grab the stallion before he hit the ground, the speedster was fast, but not quite as fast as gravity. Inches from swiping him back up, Static missed as the pony she just met fell to his doom. Worried beyond thinking, the suited mare landed in seconds, her hooves trying to see if he was okay. Checking his vital signs and noting that he was still breathing, the mare sighed in relief. "Thank Celestia.." Picking up the stallion with difficulty, the pegasus tries to pull him along with her towards the city. Clearly struggling but marching forward, Static pushed forward. Hoping she could rush him in time to ensure his condition didnt get worse, her main concern was a concussion. Flapping her wings incredibly hard, she somehow managed to take off into the sky with him on her back as they soon took off.
