Now that was something that definitely didn't sound appealing in the least. Being slowly drained by thousands of changelings sat somewhere near the top of Night's 'never going to happen' lists, just below being impaled again. The queen's words had hit a nerve, though he knew that if either himself or the mare beside him were to get out of this alive, he needed to keep a clear head. That was when he remembered something... Something in his possession that may get them out of this. Looking over to Chrysalis, the bat pony smirks under his face wrapping.
"I didn't think that the queen of the land was so touchy... Now, while killing us would be all well and good, I believe I have something else in mind... Something that may catch your interest."

Smiling at her only daughter, the Queen felt herself laugh in delight. Staring into the young mare's eyes, it was clear her destiny would not be a pretty one when they were through with her. Swinging an ear in the bats direction however, Chrysalis felt an interesting wave of curiosity at Orange Glow's interest and knowledge of this traitorous being. Offering nothing but harsh glares to the ex soldier, her interest in his words were cut in half, one wanting to know his proposition, and the other not caring. Still, with the building no longer crumbling, she gave him a chance to speak.
"You have but a few minutes. Explain."

Well, she didn't behead him, or feed him to her changelings... That was something at least. He had a chance, and that was more than he could have hoped for in this situation. He had one shot at this, not only did his life depend on it, but the innocent mare's did as well. Night had to win, at any cost. No pressure or anything. Stealing one last glance at the pony/changeling hybrid, Night Whisper turned his attention back to the queen. He had to play off of her weaknesses somehow, that would be his best shot. It became clear to him since the start that Chrysalis possessed a massive superiority complex, this was something that the bat may be able to exploit.
"Surely, I'll try not to waste your time. Tell me, a being such as yourself probably doesn't find herself challenged all that often. You must get terribly bored, both Celestia and Luna have been defeated, who is really left for you to overcome? I would dare to say that nopony has provided you with a proper challenge in years..."
Yes, a challenge. Not only will this feed into her overinflated ego, but she would likely severely underestimate the bat pony.
"Now, what if I told you that I could provide to you that challenge? Liven things up a bit for you?"

"You?"
The very idea of him providing such an outcome had the Queen of the changelings chuckle in wait. Amused by his antics and interested in his words, Chrysalis continued to listen. Cocking a brow at his response, the audacity of his situation had boiled up the time, if for a moment. Staring into him with further greed and hunger for a challenge far more worthy of her time, a wide and twisted grin had spread over the powerful beings fanged muzzle. What she couldn't wrap her head around however, was who this stranger was that seemed all powerful. Rolling her eyes mentally and thinking he may be giving away a secret hiding place of an old enemy, the Queen's anticipation meter had only grown sporadically through the time passing.
"And how could you provide such a challenge. Let us get one thing perfectly clear bat, your kind is banished from this land. One wrong move, and I'll personally bring down my.armies ontop of the rest of you puny ex soldiers and your family. But prove yourself worthy, and we may even get along. Dare to continue? There isn't a creature alive that would be brave enough to challenge me. But go on fool."

The way the changeling queen brought up his people had caused Night to hesitate a bit. Was he really prepared to risk the well being of other bat ponies on whether he could beat Chrysalis or not? Maybe he should just give himself up... It was at that moment the words of his master rung through his head once again.
'Do not go quietly into that goodnight.'
No. The stallion wasn't going to give up, not now. It seemed reasonable that even if he hadn't issued this challenge, she would still exterminate his species anyways. It was an inevitability, unless he could bring her down right here, right now. A fire ignited in Night's heart, as he fearlessly met Chrysalis' gaze.
"Perhaps no creature you've ever met, but I am more than brave enough to challenge you. In fact, I'm willing to bet that if you release me from your magic, I could turn the tide of this conflict in a single move. So what do you say? Are you going to run away with your tail tucked between your legs? Or are you going to back up just how fearsome your reputation makes you out to be?"

Since it wasn't apperent before Orange now began to resemble Plush Ramen more and more. Her Changeling magic struggled some days which could sometimes lead to her transformations taking a bit longer than normal. Her voice matched to a tee and she chuckled evily. She walked before Night a solid two feet in front of him and grinned stopping to stare at him.
"Oh? My Queen do you really think this poor little bat pony stands a chance? He couldn't even handle this mare that I'm currently wearing."

Now that was low. Night Whisper's heart began to beat faster and faster at the sight of his former love... A mixture of pain, regret, sorrow and anger well up inside him. How did this changeling even know about him and Plush? Was Plush their captive perhaps?
Reaching deep inside himself, Night just barely managed to keep his composure. 'Never let yourself be overwhelmed by your opponent'.
"I'm not the same pony I was five years ago. Let me free, and I'll prove it to you both... Unless you're saying the Queen of the realm is afraid of a lowly bat. "

But hey, I'm always in the mood to watch my Queen put a bat in it's place" She chuckled and stood back behind her Queen not wanting to be in her way.

'A single move huh? What trickery is he up to.'
Laughing at his words, a green aura had lit around the bug mare's misshaped horn. Intrigued by the bats words, the feelings he permitted off of his persona were indeed worthy of her time. His request however, was not. Studying those yellow eyes for hidden mystery's, the secrets he hid inside were those of pain. Hearing his insulting words however, the Queen weighed just how much she could care right now. To destroy him would be too easy, but to allow this and have him be destroyed anyway.. still felt boring to her. That's when it hit her. orange Glow's transformation was more then just a fluke, it meant something. With a flash of her horn, the weight was lifted from Night Whisper's body, allowing him to drop to the floor on all fours.
"You dare to insult me? I admire your bravery, it's a shame that it is wasted on the stupid. Your move."

(I want to start off by saying that this potion has been in the 'equipment' section of my character sheet since creation, and has been approved. It's fair game.)
A weight had been lifted off of the young bat as he was released from the Queen's vice like grip. That weight was immediately replaced by an equally suffocating one, as he found himself facing down the powerful queen. She was underestimating him, much to Night's satisfaction. The more your opponent writes you off, the harder it will be for them to collect themselves when you surprise them.
There was no chance in Tartarus that Night was going to beat her conventionally; her magic was much too powerful, and gave her too big of an advantage. He needed to eliminate that advantage if he was going to win this, and surprisingly, he had a way to do so.
Reaching back and pulling a small vial out of his pack, the bat pony casually removed his face wrapping, revealing his steely resolve. He had planned on saving this until he came face to face with Plush, but he would never get out of this alive without it. The red liquid inside of the vial began to bubble slightly, much like a carbonated drink would.
هدف التعادل العظيم, or 'the great equalizer' it was called. A very ancient, and rare formula, dating back thousands of years when the Saddle Arabian's went to war against the Alicorns of old. It was said to make the user and all they touched immune to all forms of magic for fifteen minutes... More than enough time to end most engagements. His last gift from the monks before his departure, Night would likely never see another vial in his life. He just prayed that it actually worked, otherwise he would look rather foolish.
In a swift motion, he chugs down the substance, and immediately cringes. The glass vial shatters on the floor as Night's expression contorted. Damn, it went down harder than the strongest tequila. The bat's throat burned mercilessly, though he began to feel something else deep inside him. His fur stood up on edge, as his hooves began to twitch. The leathery wings of the bat flex out, as his eyes glow a brilliant white. The white glow slowly begins to cover his entire body. Indeed, Night Whisper would be completely immune to magic for fifteen minutes, and he would smash through magic as if it wasn't even there.
Looking over to his polearm on the ground, he rolls over to it, grabbing it from off the floor. The white glow extended onto his weapon. With a swift kick off, he lunged at Chrysalis, eyes fierce, as he looks to stab her through the neck.

"Say your prayers."
Awaiting his attack with lurking orbs, the Queen of the changelings had noticed him take something before their engagement. Not thinking much of it, the interesting changes to his body and colors had the Queen oddly amused by it all. Assuming he thought he had the upper hoof, the holed bug mare allowed him to grow closer. Watching him grab a weapon however, it seemed armory was not out of the question. Not ever being a fan of weapons for their boredom in her eyes, Chrysalis had kept her horn lit as his sharp weapon aimed to strike her down.
Keeping her horn on a dim light, the Queen of the Changelings could only keep her overconfident smile, moving very little. This is where most needed to pay incredibly attention to. For in the blink of an eye, Chrysalis and her entire frame had lit up in flames. Transporting behind him in a fast and unheard of way, a magical blast was shot into Night's direction. Aiming for his heart, the Queen had begun to laugh lightly at his feeble attempts.
"Weapons or no weapons, you're still a dead bat."
Not waiting to see if it struck, the bug mare had begun to walk towards Orange Glow. Speaking in knowing she wasted no energy at all, her green orbs glanced over the changelings new look with an interesting thought. Speaking to her with a roll to her eyes over the annoying things she had to take care of, a flash of memories shot across her mind. Her pet had wanted so desperately to allow this creature freedom until her death, and she refused it. Should she be reconsidering?
"Orange Glow. Why the traitor?"

Night felt his spear pierce through the flames and hit the floor. It didn't take a genius to put two and two together; it was a teleportation spell. He knew this trick from fighting Joxer, she would teleport behind him, and counter attack, either with a swift strike or a magical blast. Knowing Chrysalis, she would opt with the latter, she wouldn't sully her hooves with an opponent she deemed 'beneath her'. As if Night could see the future, he felt a great heat hit him in the back. There was no pain, as the attack seemed to simply graze off of him, leaving him unharmed. So the potion did work... That was good to know.
Night's ears picked up the sound of her walking away, and speaking to her underling. Did she not even care to see if her attack even hit? Arrogance. She would regret it.
Spinning round and flicking a lever on his spear, the counterweight on the bottom extended into a ball and chain. Wasting no time, he wrapped the chain around Chrysalis' back legs, and with a hard yank, pulled her to the ground.
"Not dead yet!"
He lunges at her again, her back legs still bound.

Twitching an ear back to the enemy, Chrysalis had underestimated his dodging abilities greatly. Tall and slim, it didn't take much for her to be brought to the ground by his yank. It did however piss her off to extreme levels. With a horn flaring back to life, the changeling Queen snarled as she attempted to blast him three more times. With violent and deadly shots to different parts of his body, the bug mare had watched him begin to lunge.
"So, you took something for magic. Smart boy."
Noticing her attacks not doing much of anything, the Queen was all about her magical attacks. Without them, she was not entirely useless however, for this battle was far from over. Unsure of what he took exactly, the dark skinned mare focused on her game. Offering a laugh at the situation she was in, the changeling mother couldn't stop finding this incredibly humorous.
"You are quite an amusing pony!"
Kicking her back legs and using her front ones to angle herself perfectly, with a few seconds of elbow work, the mare had twisted to her stomach. Rolling away hopefully from his attack, her once green eyes had begun to glow bright before turning aphotic to the naked eye. Like the reflections of a mirror, Chrysalis had cloned herself three separate times across the room. It is said that making one clone for a unicorn was hard enough, but to make three, the Queen was living up to her name within seconds. Charging at him at once, laughter from each twisted smile was all he could hear as the thick smoke soon filled the air once more. Never being one to play fair, the clones had begun to throw punches as others aimed to put their sharp fangs to good use.
"One move you said. It has been more than one."
Laughing hardest of all, the real changeling mare had begun to grow.. thinner? Finding her legs becoming less then twigs, slipping out of the bounded chain was slowly becoming nothing of a problem at all. With the smoke as a cover up, she was hoping her clones would waste some of his time. Still not afraid, the Queen had to admit he was keeping her laughing at the least. Admiring his smart reflexes, her consideration for his skills could have been useful, if he didnt so foolishly attack her.

Clones, this could be... Problematic. Trying his best to keep his distance from the clones, he could only keep away from them for so long. The punches and bites came in from several directions; the monks had trained Night in defending against multiple attackers, though he wasn't able to evade every single blow. Feeling the chain loosen, the bat didn't even need to look over to see that the real Chrysalis had escaped.
Night was tempted to respond to the Queen, though he felt that if he pried his attention away from the clones, they'd overwhelm him. Using his wings to push himself back, the bat slashes out with his spear, slashing one of the clones in the throat. He takes a defensive stance, not putting it above Chrysalis to attack him from the side, above or behind.

Getting slashed in the throat, the one clone seems to stop moving. Twitching and lighting up into neon green flames, the one knock off seems to disappear. Leaving the other two still lurking, the clones come back with vengeance. It wasn't your average kong fu, but the vicious attack of two dirty and rather cheating excuses for fighting. Brutal as they were, they were still organized, not battling separately, but working together.
Meanwhile, Chrysalis had reformed into her original size, flapping her bug like wings as she rose into the air. Flapping away and lighting her horn, the fog had begun to thin as viability grew more clear to the bat ponies eyes. Grinning up in the air, Chrysalis could only chuckle as she could be seen in the air directly in front of him. Her humor never seemed to fail in the oddest of times.
"I have new proposition for you bat. Seeing your moves and intellect through your own fears, I admire that. I will give you an offer. Decline it, and this is the end for you. Accept, and you may enjoy what I am about to say. In a few days time, an arena event is coming up, if you battle in it and win, you could be legendary. I might even allow your race to come back into Equestria, upon proving their loyalty of course. I had a fighter for this ring, but it seems they are no longer worthy of my time. How about it? If you win, you can join my ranks."

Damn, this was a difficult fight. The bat ponies training in both Equestrian and Saddle Arabian styles would give him the advantage against most opponents... But he was fighting not one, but two queen Chrysalis'. A dodge, and fient, a parry, a strafe... Night managed to dodge most of the attacks sent his way, though the odd swing would find its mark.
Night could tell you first hoof, she hit like a bloody freight train on steroids. Even the glancing blows made his bones rattle, and his ears ring.
'Never be overwhelmed by your opponent... Never be overwhelmed by your opponent... Never...' The words repeated in his mind as the young bat hardened his heart. He was in a lot of pain right now, but he would never give Chrysalis the satisfaction of seeing him wince. At every strike that managed to make contact, Night's expression remained stone cold.
Dodging to the left of one of the clones lunging strikes, he counters with a spear to the ribs, effectively destroying the second clone. Now being able to focus on one on one combat, Night responds to to the real queen.
"Is that a job offer I hear? You want me to be your pit dog?"
Ducking underneath the last clone's swipe, he quickly does away with her as well. It was now Night Whisper, and the real Queen Chrysalis, standing face to face. He would be a fool if he thought the real thing would be as easy to take down as the wannabe clones.
He observes his surroundings with his peripheral vision, never taking his gaze off of the queen.
"Because by my count, I've already killed you three times over. I think I'm ready to move on to the real thing."
Wasting no time, he tosses his spear at Chrysalis and... Misses? It would appear that the spear whizzed right over top of the Changeling queen.
As it turns out, Chrysalis was not his target. A large, heavy chandelier was cut down from the roof, and sent tumbling down towards Chrysalis. At the very least this would provide a distraction.

Watching her clones go one by one, her plan for exerting some of his energy had worked wonders. He was growing sloppy and not at all in the same shape as when he started. He was nothing but an ex soldier, a rat of the military and a broken down bat with seemingly nothing to live for any longer. As a changeling, Chrysalis could feel his worry, his anger, his fear, and over all, his desire to win.
"Suite yourself. A pit or not, you'll be a dead one soon. Miss Glow, it seems that orange mare will come in handy after all"
Preparing to dodge his spear before it ever struck, noticing it missing completely, the Queen had let loose sets of laughter at his failure. Using Orange Glow's tactics to feel for his emotions in this manner, the mare hadn't waited for a response. With the clones gone, their methods of distractions were exactly what she needed to gain the upper hoof in this battle. Preparing to attack, the Queen had begun to cast an interesting spell when the sounds of cracking above had caught her attention. Stopping her spell short, widened green orbs watched in horror as the chandelier soon collapsed itself over the bug Queens body.
Dragging her to the floor, debris spread everywhere like dust as the air soon begun to clear up once more. For a moment, there wasn't a single movement from the cold floor. All that anyone could see, was the large heavy chandelier, and the body of the Queen below it. Minutes passed on as nothing seemed to happen, causing the room to grow silent and dreary. Had he won? The aroma of the air seemed to change slightly, becoming alittle brighter as some of the suns rays shined through the now open windows of the Ponyville palace.

Night honestly didn't expect that plan to work out as well as it did, but his eyes didn't decieve him; there she was, Chrysalis, queen of the changelings, lying there, broken under a pile of rubble. He actually did it... An overwhelming sense of pride and relief washed over Night, though it was swiftly replaced with rage. All the things she's done, all the lives she's ruined. Night could end her, end the war, end the entire regime, with one skewer.
It enraged him, because the more he looked at her, the more he realized he couldn't do it. 'Never kill the helpless' he was taught. 'No matter how rotten'. The monks were good hearted ponies, and while sometimes he considered himself otherwise, so was Night. They had instilled their code too deeply into him at this point. Chrysalis was defenceless, he wasn't going to murder her.
He will, however, take out some much needed aggression. Nobody has ever accused Night Whisper of being a complete saint after all. Slowly approaching the wounded and weary Changeling, Night took his time. Placing his hoof under her chin, he gently raises her gaze to his own, his glowing eyes piercing hers.
"Look at me." He demands, before punching her hard in the face with his other hoof. A shot of pure pain runs up his hoof. Was she made out of solid rock?! The bat wouldn't be surprised if his punch hurt his hoof more than it hurt her face, but that wasn't the point. He raises her head once again.
"I want you to know something your majesty. Today, I've chosen not to kill you."
He punches her again, before raising her head.
"It wasn't an Alicorn that brought you down today, or a great beast, or an army..."
He punches her again.
"It was me. I want you to look into my eyes and come to terms with that. You aren't untouchable, and on this day, a regular pony managed to leave you broken under a pile of rubble."
Reaching back, he punches her one last time, putting his whole body into it this time. His hoof had just started to bleed at the abuse.
The victorious bat turns away from his fallen opponent, walking towards the mare he had saved earlier.
"Remember Chrysalis, today it was you who wasn't worth my time. Stay away from me, and my kind. This is your only warning, I won't go easy on you next time."
The bat touches the mare on the leg, and his whole glow envelops her body. She would soon find herself free.
"Let's go." He motions towards the door. It was at that moment, Night noticed the sunlight beam through the windows.

The truth was, Chrysalis could feel everything. The truth was, it still didn't hurt that much. And the truth was, his words actually got to her. She wanted to be the Queen ponies and changelings alike could respect and love, but the truth was, she was neither. Even still, she had a job to do as the Queen, and NOONE was going to walk away from her like that. As the sun begins to beam into the windows, the day seemed almost peaceful despite what the bat pony had been through. He managed to do something the princess of the sun herself failed to do. That was, until the windows shattered. Breaking into them, strong gusts of wind had begun to force into the palace with unstoppable currents. Spinning quicker and forcefully bashing everything in the room not weighed down against the hard wall once more, the oncoming wind was not magic, nor was it plain weather, it was enhanced. Pressing incredibly hard against the three bodies to the one solid and stone wall, there wasn't much room for moving in slicing wind conditions. "Well now, you've had your fun, I allowed it. Now, its my turn. Let me show you just how much damage I can do without touching you with magic." The voice had came from the chandelier as the entire thing lit up in the all too familiar flames. Instead of going away however, the fire turned red as the Queen of the Changelings arose from the smoke and ashes. Seemingly unharmed, the bug mare looked to the trio before setting her eyes on Orange Glow. Not meaning to mix her into the mix, an aura wrapped around the changeling daughter before transporting her back to her side. "I apologize Orange Glow. You were never meant to be harmed." Quickly turning to the bat pony and the citizen, this much wind control over the atmosphere was enough to prove to anypony just how powerful she truly was. Never giving away her secret of the crystal heart to anyone, the mare had only let loose a small chuckle. She was greatly annoyed, and further more, wanting to put him in his place once and for all. But why should she have all the fun? The very wind she had been controlling was beginning to grow worse, breaking a rib or two of the normal citizens body. Depending on the bat's physique, he might hold out better. "You completed your promise to me. You gave me a fun time this morning. That was a 'little' more then the normal guard. I'll make sure to raise my training tactics. I want you to know something. Today, I've chosen not to kill you. But there are things far worse then death." Mocking him at his own words, Chrysalis knew she couldnt do much with that pill in his system, instead however, she could give him as a gift to somepony else. Grinning at this, a hole in the floor had begun to open up. Black as the night and covered in shadows, the hole grew bigger as it remained just underneath the two of them. Large enough to avoid escape, Chrysalis spoke once more. As she did, the pressure on the wind had begun to move, allowing the two to drop to the floor, or in their case, the black transporter hole. "Chow. When we meet again, I hope to see some bowing." Orange winced in pain as she hit the wall. In truth she was really never much of a fighter, but during the years since her transformation she learned how to endure in fights. Though she was in no way prepared for what the Queen did as her guard wasn't fully up. When Night disappeared she blinked and smiled a bit. The Queen had of course won. Though he did manage to get a few good blows in. But when she was serious nothing stood in her way.
"It is alright Mother. I chose the traitor because she was his former lover from what I remember. If the rumors of the hospital were right she impaled him to a tree" She grinned changing back to her changeling form.
"I hope you don't mind that I stayed out of your one sided fight, it was a duel after all."

Smiling at her daughter, the Queen had placed a hoof to her head in silence. Looking over their lost brotheren, Chrysalis remained silent for a moment longer. Removing it and returning the chandelier to its rightful place, her eyes shifted to the doorway. Having to admit that her magic wasnt going to save her forever, this little exercise helped her in remembering where her flaws lied.
"I do not mind. You were most helpful in distracting. Former lover? The ways of these ponies continue to lure me into more ways then one. Orange dear, may I ask you a question? Do you believe I should allow that traitor freedom until the arena games? My Pet transporter had discussed it with me, but it wasn't on my liking list. Was I too hard? I cannot trust traitors, but perhaps this act of good would look grand on my behalf? Or am I simply being foolish? The old me would have slaughtered the bat and pony with no questions, am I too soft?"
The Queen had actually begun to sound heart filled and confused. Wanting advice from her daughter and truthfully unsure on what to do, this was indeed an extremely rare moment to catch the seemingly flawless Queen of Equestria in. Even still, her trust in Orange Glow had shown just how much she had come around over the years.

"Of course you haven't become to soft. You are becoming a true Queen to this land. And the embodiments of a grand Queen wouldn't allow you to kill everyone you come across. Soon the ponies will admire you and truly see you as their Queen. As for the traitor.. It could go to serve some good. Though I'd keep a close eye on her, she is a traitor after all."Orange said after a brief moment of thinking. She didn't really like that mare in particular as she had tried to kill her before.

Listening in on Orange Glow's words, she really was a bright one for her time. Knowing all that she truly set out to do, the Queen could only smile kindly down at her direction. She was doing far better then a lot of her kind, adjusting to this new lifestyle. Perhaps tax duty wasn't where she should be located in right now, another more amusing mission might work towards her favor. Clicking with her last words, Chrysalis turned her full attention to the changeling mare with a grand idea.
"Close eye hm? Deliver this message to the prison Orange. Release the traitor. I will have you watch her for the moment. For I need Joxer for a more important task in the means of transportation. I believe you are the perfect one to change any ponies mind on our kind and just what I am trying to create here. Is that alright with you? Can you change this traitor into a loyal pony for the battle arena event coming up? I am counting on you."

Happy to see she would please the Queen no matter what, Chrysalis was proud of her hard work and dedication to the hive and the kingdom. Pleased and finally done fixing up the building, the tall leader turns to walk away. With the amount of magic needed to strike somepony down without actually hitting them with magic becoming harder on her body then she admitted, Chrysalis yearned to go into her chambers. Thinking Nightmare Moon might need help with the newcomers in their throne, the thought of her sneaking away sounded much more pleasing to the brain. Turning to Orange, she smiled and waved goodbye.
"Thank you. I appreciate it. it will only be temporary. I trust you one hundred percent. Tell Joxer, to meet me in my chambers. You may do with the other one as you deem fit."
In a flash, the Queen of the changelings was gone once again.
