After he took reign of The Crystal Empire again, King Sombra commissioned a large, black-crystal statue of himself to be placed on a large podium for all to see. It's a good meeting-place, with benches and some grass. Though it's said that King Sombra has a special connection with black-crystals; perhaps the statue has some other purpose?
